Architecture is always feeding on images concealed in our memory, ideas that at some point become clear and unexpectedly mark the outset of a project. Perhaps for this reason the echoes of the Hispano-Muslim culture still present in Córdoba have unconsciously meant more than a marginal note in our project. In contrast to the homogeneity that globalized civilization seems to impose in all contexts, the Contemporary Art Center aims to interpret a different Western character, overcoming the clichés of that common expression.

The extension of the Visual Arts School of Lima supposes a challenge in different issues:
The relationship between old and new. The actual building is an architectural landmark, a very good example of neo-colonial architecture of the 1930’s The addition should be respectful of the existing building but we considered it should also be a testimony for XXIst century architecture in Lima.
WORKac’s new space for the CMA organizes all activity around a large central gallery for exhibitions and events. The other art-making spaces were conceived of as classic ‘‘white boxes.’’ Surrounding and connecting these spaces is a band of color and activity in a gradient from red to indigo, providing visual and physical relief and creating a transition between the other spaces.
The Eemhuis combines a number of existing cultural institutes in the city of Amersfoort: the city library, the exposition center, the heritage archives and a school for dance, music and visual arts. It is located on an urban redevelopment area close to the city center.

The Cincinnati Art Museum consists of a collection of historical buildings that were added over the past century. The complex and shattered structure of the building gave cause for a thorough renovation and extension. The concept offers a museum that has clear and separate spaces, attractive to exhibit different types of art plus a pleasant working environment for all employees. The existing building presents itself in smaller “en suite” galleries that are perfect to expose paintings and other hanging exhibitions.

Urban approach . The study site is a vacant lot owned by the city of Bessancourt and located a few hundred meters away from the town hall. Its location is in continuity with its historic downtown. The site is marked on the north by the imposing presence of a church. The urban environment of the study site is very mineral, the stone church is massive and reinforces this homogeneity. The building distribution on the site is diffuse and invites us to propose a singular object, an additional object that can join the existing group.

The City of Hamilton Housing Division engaged TCA to adaptively reuse this high visibility historic building and former strip club into an arts centre with a multipurpose gallery/event space, 8 artist studios, a meeting room and 12 loft apartments. Intended to contribute to the burgeoning downtown renewal well established nearby, this is intended as a catalyst for renewal of the Gore Park area, a triangular park that is at the heart of downtown Hamilton.
Collection Building is an art depot open to the public. A public route zigzags through the building, from the lobby on the ground floor where a café can be found up to an exhibition space, sculpture garden and restaurant on the roof. On the way up the route passes along and through art depots and restoration workshops. In depots visible from the route, the exhibition can be changed on a daily basis by simply moving storage racks so each visit to the building can offer a unique experience. On three floors the route passes through exhibition spaces which will be programmed by Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen.

The Solar Winds Cultural Arts Center is a design proposal for a large solar and wind powered structure dedicated to a wide variety of cultural arts activities. The center is composed of seven conical shaped modular structures that are merged together at their bases.
ArtA will be an exciting mixture of public functions: a ‘sandwich’ of cinema, square, museum and park: Art House,Art Square, Art Show, Art Park.
By pushing this programmatic sandwich down on one side the roof becomes accessible. At the same time the building opens up to the river. An easily accessible roof landscape emerges draped over vibrant city life: ‘urban moraine’.
