Epicure in Kavala, Greece by URBAN SOUL PROJECT

Wednesday, November 14th, 2018

Article source: URBAN SOUL PROJECT

The term of “epicuric” has been connected through the centuries with pleasure and good food and drink. The design concept of the bar restaurant was based on the imagination / aesthetic performance of pleasure, the one that stimulates the senses.

The bar-restaurant is situated in one of the most central locations of the city, on the waterfront of Kavala. Epicure is a modern mix of the rich, classic Viennese style with colorful pop and modern elements. The characteristic arches in the window frames and the constructions in the interior are inspired by the city’s landmark, its Roman aquaduct.

The floor plan of this enlongated store is focused on the separation of functions and the intensity of its perspective through the arrangement of the furniture and lighting fixtures.

Article source: Reed Watts Ltd

Reed Watts Architects have recently completed their third and largest project at the V&A, a new café and pergola structure in the John Madejski Garden. Going from conception to completion in less than four months, the elegant steel structure defines a new space for seating in the museum and provides a dual-fronted café counter for Benugo, the museum’s café operator.

The V&A in South Kensington hosts over 4m visitors every year and its main café enjoys an outstanding reputation as one of the most beautiful in London. The brief for Reed Watts was to deliver a café in the Madejski Garden that would be met with a similar reception, replacing an existing structure that was no longer fit for purpose.

The building is located on a hillside overlooking the sandy beach in Mui Ne, Vietnam. Haus Space transformed a private house on a long piece of land into a tropical bungalow named Hill Lodge. Haus Space retained the original house structure including the exterior walls and roof, and then rearranged the interior spaces to provide a comfortable bungalow facing a large terrace with a pool and garden. Article source: Anastasia Arquitetos

The LD residence is situated in Nova Lima, a mountanious town neighbour to Belo Horizonte, Brasil. The building site has an average 34 degrees transversal inclination and 12 degrees in the longitudinal direction, with 3400 square meters.

By situating the main part of the residence in the longitutinal direction, it was possible to create a more harmonious implantation on the site, thus avoidind giant walls and disproportionate structures, which is quite common in the neighbourhood.

Off-Grid Villa in Camargue, France by BLUEROOM

Wednesday, October 31st, 2018

Article source: BLUEROOM

BLUEROOM proudly presents the sketch design for an Off-Grid Villa in the south of France.

The team researched the design potential for building a patio villa on a 1.000 m2 site, in a region in the south east of France. The Client requested a striking, contemporary design that blends into its natural context. A residence that can absorb changing needs in the future, such as extra children, in-living parents or in-living nurse. BLUEROOM welcomed this task as a balancing act between expressive and subtle design, to create a compact patio villa that facilitates both the interaction between its users, as well as the comfort of privacy when so desired.
