Syvälahti Education Centre in Turku, Finland by Verstas Architects

Syvälahti Education Centre is a multipurpose building combining a comprehensive school, a day-care centre, a public library, a youth centre and a childcare guidance centre. All are under one twisting roof. The building serves nearly a thousand one to sixteen-year-old pupils. Verstas Architects designed a plan that reflects the new Finnish curriculum highlighting shared and multidisciplinary learning.

Mary Help of Christian Church (Chaweng) in Surat Thani, Thailand by JUTI architects

Given the extension of Catholic community and the increasing in tourist in Samui island, Suratthani, who wishes to participate the mass in the then chapel, Bishop Joseph Prathan Sridarunsil, SDB, came up with the idea to build a new church and name it as Mary Help of Christian church. The selected architect, whom inspired by the church name, took part of the Holy Bible relating to holy Annunciation of Mary into his design as follow:

Located across from the St-Etienne station on the Esplanade de France, the influence of the intervention at the heart of the ZAC Châteaucreux is a link between neighborhoods and horizon lines, a low point in the topography of St-Etienne in front of a preferred route to the city center. Combined with the scale of the project and the symbolic value of the program, this unique location gives the project a special status in the construction of the city.

Taking over a non-descript high-rise building in central Hanoi, G8A propose to stack four horizontal agoras in order to create a fresh interconnected co-working typology. Each platform linked by a vertical chasm of light creating a visual connection and common sensitivity between the different floors.

Sports Direct’s New London Offices in England by PENSON

PENSON, the Architecture and Interior Design Studio whose visionary projects include new hospitality brand JO&JOE and Google’s UK HQ has turned its expertise to Sports Direct International’s new London offices.

Working closely with Michael Murray, the retailer’s Head of Elevation, PENSON has created a unique interior experience over four floors, designed to promote a retail connection in an inspiring and sleek environment.

The London office sits above its newly opened luxury Flannels’ flagship store in Oxford Street and has been designed to spearhead the elevation of the group, bringing together the creative teams across Sports Direct International Plc.

Tubman Elementary School in Washington, DC by ISTUDIO Architects

The pilot program reclaimed an existing elementary school’s underutilized, overgrown and rat-infested courtyard.  It was redesigned as garden beds, teaching kitchen and education pavilion. The structure encompasses a teaching wall, tables with seating, and covered area for outdoor learning.
