Huaxin Business Center in Guiling Road &Yishan Road, Shanghai Xuhui District, China by Scenic Architecture

Tuesday, May 27th, 2014

Article source: Scenic Architecture

I expect that this building could enlighten us to think the relevance among human, nature and society.

Huaxin office complex locates to the west of Guilin road, with a green land at the south of its entry.  This green land owns 6 old camphor trees and opens to the urban main road — these two facts become the starting point of the design, and hence to lead to two basic strategies of the business center: One is to elevate the main body of building up to second floor in order to maximize the open green space on the ground; Second is to establish an intimate and interactive relationship with 6 trees while protecting them in the site.

To include the building complex very naturally into the environment, it is placed on different landscape levels. The use of typical colours and patterns does not only help to fit the complex into the natural landscape, it also refers to the already existing UPC building.

Article source: BURO II & ARCHI+I

The business complex building is designed as an expansion of an existing business site. A substantial green strip makes for a buffering for the village centre of Westkapelle.

The business complex building is the start for the completion of the third phase of the business site. The premise for the design was, on the one hand, to create a landmark, but on the other hand, to also create modularity and fl exibility, accessibility and sustainability.
