Palanga concert hall in Lithuania by Uostamiescio projektas

Friday, March 18th, 2016

Article source: Uostamiescio projektas

New concert hall erected in the autumn of 2015 at the most popular resort town of Lithuania- Palanga.

Specific location- center of the quarter, which is formed by different stylistics discordant buildings, presupposed a simple circular shape- the form that unites surrounding various periods of architecture.  It’s round white facade not only gives sense of lightness to a relatively big volume of a building, but also highlights a valuable historic building- Palanga kurhauz, by forming a contrast background to it.

Article source: Estudio Barozzi Veiga

The auditorium’s duality arises from the contradiction of its site. On the edge of town, the auditorium faces two realities: the beauty of the coastal landscape and the harsh and fragmented urban context.

Sunday, June 14th, 2015

Article source: Estudio Barozzi Veiga

The Philarmonic Hall, which is to accommodate a concert hall and a chamber music hall , is a very complex building that occupies the same space as the former music building. This is a synthetic project that shares identifying traits with its surrounding context. Mass, versatility and the shape of the roof-lines are dominant, connecting the hall with the rest of the city.

Article source: Coop Himmelb(l)au

After four years of construction, the “House of Music” in Aalborg, Denmark was ceremoniously opened on March 29, 2014 by the Danish Queen Margrethe II.

This cultural centre was designed by the Viennese architectural studio Coop Himmelb(l)au as a combined school and concert hall: its open structure promotes the exchange between the audience and artists, and the students and teachers. “The idea behind the building can already be read from the outer shape. The school embraces the concert hall,” explained Wolf D. Prix, design principal and CEO of Coop Himmelb(l)au.
