Containing two dwellings within a unified whole – at Küsnacht the Zaha Hadid ‘signature’ is unmistakable – its internal and external spaces organically integrated – the seamless folding of floors into walls into ceilings – the seamless flow from inside to outside – the structure’s inherent sense of lightness, dynamism and motion.
Occupying a strategic position in the residential zone, the seven towers of d’Leedon grow from sunken gardens into the sky – each one articulated as a sequence of petals, generating great diversity and offering stunning views from every apartment, before blending into sky in a series of staggered fingers.
Creating a portal to the FieraMilano: a 43-storey, 190 metre retail tower emerging from the site, giving shape to a torsion or vortex, a slow rising and twisting from its base. Horizontal energy is released into a vertical, spiralling vector aligned with the snaking forms of the housing across the river.

The Atelier Notify constitutes a hybrid, part shop, part production line – presenting a fluid facade to the exterior, striking an elegant sculptural gesture within – creating a powerful dynamic flow which moves customers through both the space and the processes involved in the creation of denim garments.
An introverted sculptural structure unfurling towards the ocean and the private courtyards within: a powerful dichotomy between intimacy and exposure. A design characterised by a formal tension between straight and curved surfaces and a dynamic roof gesture delineating the boundary between private and shared space. The brief called for a single family house located at the top of a residential area overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
Emerging from the surrounding landscape, this most fluid of structures provides a major new venue, landmark and source of regeneration for the city of Baku – admitting visitors to a library, museum and conference centre through folds in its continuous outer skin, the interior spaces flooded with natural light via a glass façade.

Our Central Building for BMW constituted a radical reinterpretation of the traditional office – transforming the building and the functions it contains into a more dynamic, engaging ‘nerve-centre’ or ‘communication knot’ – funneling all movement around the manufacturing complex through a space that transcends conventional white collar/blue collar spatial divisions.
Echoing and extending the many circulatory and visual connections that define its surrounding topography, the museum forms itself by extending and folding these connections through a series of pleats, producing a structure that changes as visitors move past and through it – creating great curiosity yet never fully revealing its content. The location of the Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum at the northern edge of the Michigan State University campus is influenced by a set of movements along and across it.
Within the context of a masterplan design for hotel and marina, D-Villa merges an emerging continuous architectural landscape below with an elevated disc above to create elegant private, public and semi-public spaces – a dwelling which appears to both grow from the ground and float above it.
An exciting addition to the Hoxton Square’s eclectic character. Based on the idea of a prism, the design seeks to respond to and manipulate daylight and views. Its form is composed of interwoven planes that respect neighbours’ need for access to natural light, controlling light and views between the interior and exterior.
