Found in the region of Lagonisi, the plot marks a transition between the urban landscape of the city of Athens and the unblemished nature. Emerging from the ground, following a rotation of 6°, House 6° harmoniously contradicts with the mild inclination of the existing topography, embodying the transition between private and common areas. Private areas are strategically placed in the submerged part of the building, in order to create a direct contact with the surrounding landscape. Common areas gradually unfold, ascending towards the sea view.
This house has been renovated mainly on the first floor because 18 years the completion. It is made by folding a plate, and a rectangular box made of concrete is inserted into it to support the whole. The outer surface of the box is finished with concrete cast in cedar board formwork, leaving the texture of wood even though it is concrete. In order to further strengthen the design concept at the completion, the entire inside of the box, that is, the kitchen area is covered with a wooden finish.
The house, despite being so distinguished from its neighbors, blends into its surrounding so harmoniously. Its simple, rectangular façade with a long horizontal strip of windows on the second floor only mimics the gentle curve of the street in the front and remains crude and frugal in the rest of its details. Behind its unobtrusive and unimposing presence, however, it engages with the peculiar site and clients so energetically. Like a child who can play anywhere with anything, the Fun House discovers playfulness in the two and conceives a playground that belongs to both.
Situated in a valley at the mouth of the river Vefsn, the town of Mosjøen provides an ice free and safe harbour close to Lofoten. Today the town is dominated by residential areas of detached houses in a strict grid plan.
The Bay Window house has four apartments designed for people who want to replace their single-family house with an apartment in favour of a simpler life. It has therefore been an ambition to create a project with apartments that have many of the qualities found in a single-family house.
We designed this house for a family who decided to move out of the city to be closer to nature. The building is located in the Vinnitsa region of Ukraine on the bank of the Southern Bug river. The aesthetic concept of the project was dictated by the picturesque landscape. We decided to integrate the building into the surroundings as much as possible.
The biggest challenge for us was the short term of a project. It took 11 months from the foundation pouring to moving the family into their new home. It is a huge amount of work to build a cast-in-place concrete frame building with all technical difficulties, furnish it, and prepare it for a full life.
What happens to the suburban single-family home as cities become dense and privacy becomes limited? It must look inward. Through a series of thresholds from opaque to transparent, Yo-Ju Courtyard House, which means “secluded living” in Mandarin Chinese, embraces the future of suburban density by establishing a private experience despite being adjacent to a busy arterial street in the Clyde Hill neighborhood of Bellevue.
That’s right, this is a collection created by both Dushe and the owner in five years
In 2015, when the design of this residential building in the center of Wuhan was started, the owner of Sheng and Si grew up with a unique feeling for such a rare land in the core area. He and his children will live in this project, so they hope to build Wuhan the best residence still 20 years later, and can stand the test of the times. So when the designer wanted to buy and was rejected because it had already been booked, the designer believed that the project met expectations.

“This is a Live/Work/Play apartment for a family with children in the hilly Mid-Levels of Hong Kong. We created an elegant architectural setting which provides the flexibility that a contemporary family requires.”– Kenny Kinugasa-Tsui, co-founder of Bean Buro
“Inspired by the idea of a ‘theatre set’, we created a continuous timber wall across the entire apartment with metal portals that opens up into the different internal worlds of each room. It also creates a prominent backdrop for the lounge and dining spaces.” – Lorène Faure, co-founder of Bean Buro
