The Erick van Egeraat office tower is part of an expressive high rise urban development, south of Amsterdam, named Zuid As. Located in the proximity of the city centre and with direct access to the urban network of public transport and highways, the project incorporates the potential of this unique location. The ambitious programming of a lively, high-density mixture of offices, housing, retail and public space, designed by nine international architects, all contribute to an exceptional development of metropolitan scale.
Businesspark Milanofiori North, addresses the rising demand for high quality, yet affordable offices in Milan. The area is a self-contained entity comprising 218000 m2 of gross floor area and offering a variety of functions including offices, housing, commercial, retail and leisure facilities, a cinema and a hotel. Special attention was paid to energy efficiency, the use of renewable energy and applying local materials, thus reducing the need for transportation and carbon emission. The Milanofiori North development territory acts as the new southern gateway to Milan. It is situated alongside the A7 motorway and is linked to Milan’s metropolitan railway network.
The Enclave at the Cathedral is a new residential development located on the property of Manhattan’s Cathedral of St. John the Divine. The Cathedral and its surrounding gardens and buildings form an 11.3-acre campus collectively referred to as “The Close.” The new residences sit on the site that formerly housed stone sheds used by skilled masons to cut the granite used to construct the Cathedral. Given the proximity of the new building to the Cathedral, the siting, massing, and design of the building were critical.
The site is integrated into the multi-urban network of Paris, the Grande Couronne and major green spaces and infrastructure networks. The ZAC Clichy-Batignolles is perceived as a new landscape of connection, a wide-open urban door along the major territorial arches towards the historic city.
The site becomes an important urban platform, an exchange node inserted into the system of great Parisian relational spaces. It holds a role of transition between different scales, them being territorial, urban, environmental, social, cultural, and infrastructure standpoints. The ZAC thus acts as a device of resonance and multi-district transfer.
“MOLEWA” (Mount Lu of World Architecture) was an international architectural competition that asked participants to propose designs for the “Flower Ocean / Huayan Township”, a development of a new urban district in Ruichang, China. The residential district of the new Township features close proximity to the “Flower Ocean Garden”, one of the world’s largest to be flower theme parks. The competition called for sustainable designs with concepts related to the “Flower Ocean”, which will promote cultural values and will encourage social interactions in the notion of a healthy and joyful lifestyle.
The concept of urban development is based on the landscape of open spaces with trees (historical Prater landscape) and the building units positioned in it. The sequence of built-up and undeveloped space is the result of the rhythm of several parameters including: spatial edges, rough-determining distances, orientation and interspaces. Due to the bridge connections in airy heights, eye-to-eye connections are maintained and a diversified movement with different room coverings along the lively ground floor zone is given. Places, meadows, landscapes accompany the residents, users and visitors on the fast way through or during a leisurely walk through the district of Zwei Plus. The difference between open spaces and differently equipped places takes place in addition to the adjacent buildings and the surroundings. Use: car parking, green campus with offices, dormitories and residential studios.
Carrillo Arquitectos | Forma y Espacio (CA|FE) is a Ofiice of architecture in design as an integral part of functional and rational aesthetics. CA|FE operates within the fields of architecture, urban planning, interior design, landscape design, product design, research and development.
CA|FE present a project of 14 townhouses, located in Los Molinos de Getafe (Madrid), 4-bedroom apartments divided into two levels: ground floor and first floor. This housing model shares the same organization with a constructed area of 146 m2.
The rooftop extension containing multi-level apartments is divided into private and public areas based on the concept of green filter areas, roof folding an views. Starting out from the gridlines of the existing windows the roof shape shifts according to the inner functions and the urban context.
Franken Architekten has been commissioned for the building and interior design planning of the renovation and expansion of a “Gründerzeit” building in Frankfurt Alt-Sachsenhausen. The late nineteenth old building was completely renovated and updated with a new elevator core in the courtyard. The lacking in parts in natural stone facade has been restored and the remedial measures of recent years dismantled and adapted to the Wilhelminian facade. The object associated 60s buildings have been replaced by a new building, as an archaic gabled house without roof overhangs.

The Hôtel-de-Ville Residence is a multifamily residential project in the Plateau Mont-Royal district of Montreal. This historic workers neighbourhood offers a variety of architectural richness, including the extensive use of traditional red clay brick. The project consolidates a block corner with an existing twostorey building through the construction of a new three-storey building that cantilevers over the existing volume. The project is distinguished by creating unity and cohesion between a patrimonial building and contemporary architecture, through a simple stripped-down language. For ACDF Architecture, the Hôtelde- Ville Residence was an opportunity to reflect on the expression of contemporary urban architecture.
