Hill Lodge in Binh Thuan Province, Vietnam by haus space

Monday, November 5th, 2018

Article source: haus space

The building is located on a hillside overlooking the sandy beach in Mui Ne, Vietnam. Haus Space transformed a private house on a long piece of land into a tropical bungalow named Hill Lodge. Haus Space retained the original house structure including the exterior walls and roof, and then rearranged the interior spaces to provide a comfortable bungalow facing a large terrace with a pool and garden. Thus each space is interconnected intimately for luxurious use by the guests, but privacy is provided by a glass block wall and soft materials including curtains and plants.

Coo Lodge in Chiloé, Chile by ORTUZAR +GEBAUER ARQUITECTOS

Friday, September 14th, 2018

Article source: ORTUZAR +GEBAUER ARQUITECTOS

The place has an unbeatable view where the volcanoes appear like a white mantle on the horizon and the tide goes down abruptly and let’s see different layers on the ground: a beautiful sandy beach, then stones with sand and after that, ordered stones that draw circular geometries between the beach and the sea. At that moment, the place whispers its history to us.

The first inhabitants, seamen, the Chonos or Payos as they are known in the area, were nomadic navigators, who left their traces in the sea, their fishing corrals.

Černá Voda mountain lodge in Malá Úpa, Czech Republic by ADR

Friday, August 3rd, 2018

Article source: ADR

Černá Voda, a small mountain lodge, is situated next to the “old” ski run near the Pomezní Boudy border checkpoint in the Krkonoše mountains.

The original lower ski-lift station was replaced with a new wooden structure on the confluence of Kolben and Černá Voda streams, the latter of which the chalet is named after. The owner’s wish was to have a small structure to serve as a lodge for short-term guests of the owner of the nearby Tereza mountain chalet.

Black lodge and a walnut tree in Gorski kotar, Croatia by Tomislav Soldo, PRO-S

Saturday, March 25th, 2017

Article source: Tomislav Soldo, PRO-S

The genesis of this house might have a somewhat peculiar narrative. The possibly reversed but certainly not unwanted process of conceiving and designing the space where the foremost sensory role has the nature itself.

Initially, before everything else, there was a walnut tree, providing perfect natural shade and representing the first outdoor residing space. Over time, a terrace was gradually shaped around the tree, and eventually the idea of building the house emerged.
