The Nest in Varsovia, Poland by Beza Projekt

Thursday, December 13th, 2018

Article source: Beza Projekt

We were commissioned to design interiors for The Nest – a modern coworking space. What is the real mean of the coworking space, how do we work nowadays? We tend to spend more and more time at work, or actually the border between work and leisure is being blurred. You may fight with that or just adapt.

The Nest is a place for a modern self-confident person who values its time – may work only few hours a day or maybe the whole weekend. Our main goal was to create spaces that aren’t office like, they are more like club, where you should feel comfy and cosy.

SinnerSchrader Offices in Prague, The Czech Republic by KURZ architects

Tuesday, December 4th, 2018

Article source: KURZ architects

“Form follows function,” one of the strongest mantras of modern architecture, found another tight fit at the new studio premises of SinnerSchrager in Prague. Kurz Architects designed a new office space in an old industrial building. Both the architects and the German digital agency combined the ideas of interior and digital architectures. Throughout the course of half a year, they used agile processes to plan, build and create a space for 60 digital workers. With a fixed budget and timing, the scope of the solution as constantly reprioritized and iterated upon — in an open, joyful and proactive manner. Trust and willingness to execute stood in the foreground of the collaboration. Elements like building blocks, frameworks and a strict design system were the common ground between the worlds of the architects and the digital agency; orbiting around these fostered their joint journey.

St. Regis Zhuhai Hotel & Office Tower in China by RMJM

Tuesday, December 4th, 2018

Article source:  RMJM

Following overwhelmingly positive press attention for becoming one of the tallest skyscrapers to be completed in 2017 (and one of tallest buildings ever to be constructed in China), St. Regis Zhuhai is finally being unveiled to the public.

After being commissioned by the Huafa Group, RMJM RED drew inspiration from Zhuhai’s unique rock formations, taking advantage of the surrounding southern and eastern views. The structure’s slender build is already a standout sight of the Shizimen development which is undergoing work along with the rest of the Zhuhai CBD, allowing it to grow not only economically, but also culturally.

Milwaukie Way in Portland, Oregon by Waechter Architecture

Sunday, December 2nd, 2018

Article source: Waechter Architecture

Milwaukie Way reconsiders the potential for an urban infill development to respond to its context, creating a lively public space while also preserving the existing built fabric.

Sited on a central commercial avenue in a Southeast Portland, the clients saw potential to add leasable space in the form of retail, cafes and office to their corner lot. The biggest challenge was how to integrate the existing 1929 Spanish Colonial style building that was to stay. Housing a restaurant below and office space above, the historic building sat squarely at the center of the lot, greatly limiting available street frontage and the opportunity to engage passing shoppers.

Offices for Regional Government of Andalusia in Spain by Cruz y Ortiz Arquitectos

Sunday, November 25th, 2018

Article source: Cruz y Ortiz Arquitectos

The project aims to provide a certain uniqueness and public character to the future headquarters of two government ministries, without lessening the required functional efficiency of a standard office building.

A homogeneous open hall of 12.40 metres, without intermediate columns, ideal for an administrative use, gives shape to the building bodies of eight intertwined floors, creating a singular figure. The building, which extends out to the perimeter of the site, defines the alignments of the streets without prejudicing neighbouring buildings.

Intop Office in Warsaw, Poland by JM Studio Architektoniczne

Thursday, November 22nd, 2018

Article source: JM Studio Architektoniczne

Personalized headquarters – a showcase of the company dealing with civil engineering.

Architectural design was created at the same time with interior design and this is why together they form an inseparable whole. It allowed to create a representative building perfectly fulfilling the customer’s needs. The building consists of three overlapping cuboids with different heights and different materials.

Façade materials – Cor-Ten steel, architectural concrete, steel and gabions – all refer to materials used in civil engineering. The don’t require maintenance and get nicely covered with patina. Huge glass surfaces make the building look light. Thus the interior becomes a part of the architecture and the facades become a part of the interior.
