As Akamai Technologies’ new global headquarters, 145 Broadway consolidates their workforce from across six disparate locations into a unified vertical campus. Creating connectivity within the building and neighborhood was a defining vision for the design.
As a major infill urban development, the design process for this approx. 482,000 gsf tower in Kendall Square was tailored to directly respond to opportunities created through deep collaboration with the design team and the City of Cambridge. This participatory design process resulted in a confident yet sensitive building that fits within the city scale, inspires employee engagement, and supports innovation.
Known for its beautiful archipelago of some 700 islands, Japan’s Setonaikai (Seto Inland Sea), is the largest waterway of its type in the country. Located in the center of the sea, Onomichi is surrounded by the Onomichi Channel, a key historic point for maritime traffic, and by a trio of mountains home to ancient temples. Used as a setting for many literary works and movies, the area’s scenery has more recently been recognized as a Japan Heritage Site. It has also become a mecca for cyclists, and attracts both domestic and overseas interest.
Vinted Vilnius office is located in Naujamiestis, an area that attracts people that love the urban way of living.
The main entrance to Vinted office is formed from Naugarduko Street, and it is not a typical one. It is accessed via the green pedestrian path of Naugarduko street- the metal gates lead you to the Vinted street terrace, from where you enter the main representative space of the office.
As you enter the first-floor space, you see all the social life that happens in Vinted. The main common space is 1500 m² and includes a great variety of functions – coffee bar, library, cafe, kitchen, gym, leisure bar, coy corners.

We seek for the rental room or sort of townhouse to construct the office. Regardless, we found an empty whole 3rd floor of the building on Charoenrat-Road, Bangkok. This building is one of our friend and we decide to rent this 140.00 sq.m. to create the architect office. The image of our dream office is to working in a space that relate to the nature as possible as we can.
MP VMR is an office renovation located at the ground floor of a multi-residential condominium building in the town of Mount-Royal. Originally a local SAQ store, the space offered many challenges in its footprint within the general floor plan. The numerous angles, cut-outs and central structural columns made it difficult to integrate seven private offices seamlessly. With only one glazed façade, it was important to prioritize the spaces receiving natural light.
The customer who appealed to us, at the beginning there was a desire to make a planning solution, just put the furniture. But when he showed me an object and looking at this space, my eyes tanned. I offered him to make a “cool office” there, he shrugged and said: “Come on!”. That’s how we decided to make this office.
We faced an interesting task. It was necessary to make space for the team of 8 people who are constantly in the office. Visitors rarely come to them, but if they came to them, our task was to be impressed by the status of this office and the company. We had the opportunity to make everything we want in this office. The only customer did not want to invest in the decoration of the walls of the very space, they decided to preserve the original species of walls by 80%.
The site of EMK Musical Company is located at the crossroads where Nonhyeonno – one of the major roads in Gangnam, Seoul – and Nambusunhwan-ro intersect with each other. The future benefits, which will accrue from the high rent in Gangnam, especially the high rent on the ground floor, induce conflicts between the program and the desire for the office building space with abundant interior and exterior space (including the exterior space on the ground).
Ben van Berkel: “Shopping malls are the public spaces of Chinese cities. These retail complexes are not simply places to shop, they are all-in-one destinations for outings and social gatherings. They are also places where culture and commerce merge and where architecture can express this expansive condition.”
The best of both worlds
Collaboration was key for the creation of a symbiotic relationship between the commercial aspirations and the architectural interventions. While Nihon Sekkei were asked to develop the outer shell of the retail center, UNStudio was tasked with fleshing out the mall as a placemaking destination for customers and the larger community. This included the design of the inner courtyard and its facades, the full interior of the mall and a public rooftop terrace.

The offices, showrooms and production halls of the Van Hoecke company are enlarged by means of two extensions in the multipurpose building on the one hand and in the production hall and the office building on the other.
The new multipurpose building is adjacent to the production hall and consists of two storeys. It is planned at the rear of the site. Landscape architects provide an environmental layout on this side of the plot.

Located in the Fourth Ring Green Park at the Fourth Ring, Chaoyang District, Beijing, the YouChoose Holdings Office Complex consists of two single-buildings, which are the quadrangle courtyard office building and the golf club that covers an outdoor area of 3200 ㎡ and an indoor area of 4300 ㎡. In order to meet the office and business needs of the young team of the owner, the design focus on the quadrangle courtyard garden, associate with the comprehensive transformation and upgrading of “office building space and golf club”, and create a humanistic office complex of Chinese.
