The project embraces different proceedings in a hotel resort located in the southern area of Tenerife, in the Canary Islands.
In a 105500 sq ft. lot with an irregular topography that holds a tough slope from the north-east to the south-west of the plot, there is an ensemble of irregular terraced buildings that tend to disseminate and settle in the slope generating different platforms and levels with open spaces, buildings and terraces. We can distinguish five constructions that enclose more than 129000 sq ft. located in the perimeter of the plot, enclosing in the middle the leisure areas as the gardens and the swimming pools.
This Resort project is located on the edge of Khao Yai mountain range, one of the most important and extensive national reserve forested regions of Thailand. The existing site is an abandoned agricultural land but has a great potential of viewing the beautiful panoramic view over the area. On the front, the land faces a small local road, and, on the back, there is a small mountain right next to the boundary line.
The brief is to create a unique hotel project which should be different from other projects in the area, in term of overall concept and design. Since the project is locate next to one of the beautiful forest regions, where people come for holiday and enjoy the natural resources, the nature has become the most important factor for architect to create a concept of ‘slow life’ living space where resident and visitor can enjoy to spend times outdoor as well as indoor. From that idea, the design concept of the project has been proposed with an inspiration of ‘the journey to Khao Yai’, where people experienced the visual beauties of many different species of natural greeneries from every direction throughout the journey until reaching their destination. This inspiration is transformed into a design concept of “The Path” and “The Forrest” for the project. These two concepts will transform the public area of the project, to enable residents options of choosing their pathway amidst natural and recreational spaces to their accommodations.

In October 2018, the Mohr Life Resort’s new wellness area was inaugurated in Lermoos, one of the oldest skiing areas in Tirol just an 80-km drive from Innsbruck. The Hotel itself is steeped in history, a household name for anyone visiting the skiing carousel in the northern Alps in Tirol.
ANADU is a luxury rural resort located atthe northern foot of the Mogan Mountain in Huzhou (Zhejiang province), with atotal extension of 30000m2. The mountain is part of the Moganshan NationalPark, which is just 60km distance from Hangzhou, and 200km from Shanghai.
Moganshan’s characteristic vegetation isformed by lush bamboo forest and tea fields: one can findthat country lifestyle is still well kept there. Its architecture is a mix oflocal inns and old villas dated from the beginning of the 20th century, and avariety of scenic and historical spots add anthropological value to the location.All these factors turn Moganshan into an attractive destination for bothChinese and foreign travellers seeking a more relaxed and nature orientated holiday.
This hospitality complex located near Jishou, in the Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture of Hunan, enjoys an outstanding location with views towards the valley crossed by the Aizhai Bridge and the Deben Scenic area.
The resort includes a series of luxury villas carefully integrated with the landscape, a clubhouse with services, amenities, ballroom, tearooms, conference centre and administrative facilities as well as a spectacular restaurant on the highest spot of the mountainous scenery.
The master plan blends the flexibility required by the rugged terrain with a modular system able to rationalise the arrangement and construction of the buildings. The hilly land is therefore transformed into an orderly three-dimensional mesh made of squares and triangles, able to adapt to the different levels. This simplified net of points provides a circulation system of pathways for accessing the villas and a pattern that ensures all of them enjoy interesting views, privacy and have an optimum orientation, despite the density of the intervention.
Dersyn Studio major values in design arise from 2 words “design + synchronization” which demonstrated in the design outcomes of our office. Detail design are key methodologies which used to deliver our main values and also play an important role in any project done by Dersyn Studio, especially in space and area design. Z9 Resort, one of our famous project, could be the appropriate example for our major values implementation and also show the relationship between construction details and architectural space.
What should be considered as the main actor in resort designing? Resort buildings themselves or natural context, in term of their surroundings? The building might be considered as the main actor of resort designing based upon most designer opinion. However Dersyn Studio strongly believes that the natural context should play the most important role in resort designing and resort buildings should be just a supporting actors. The relationship between natural contexts and resort buildings, based on Dersyn’s point of view, is like the relationship of the most famous painting (natural contexts) and its frame (resort building). Similarly, good detail design as well as good planning will frame nice and live able architectural space like the common area at Z9 Resort. Due to the shading from existing big tree, guess from any age can use this area and spend their times together. The elderly can enjoy their “Tai Chi” while their descendant can enjoy reading and running at this common area. These activities are also the real meaning of live able architectural space.
The Canaves resort brand is well established and extremely successful on the island of Santorini. When they approached us to design a new hotel we immediately understood the unique opportunity they had in their site, which had spectacular views of the famous sunset, without the spatial restrictions of the often cramped sites within the Caldera. The Canaves Oia Epitome is the first hotel in this part of the island to offer open, light-filled space with unrestricted views.
Our first task was to find a way to work with the imposing concrete and brick structure that already existed on the site, without affecting the overall built area. The planned hotel was relatively big for the island, with 24 rooms arranged, along with a restaurant and reception, in 3 linear blocks that together created a U-shaped plan. The massing felt awkwardly big and disconnected to the landscape. So we began breaking it up into several smaller parts and then redistributing them around the site, allowing them space to breathe within their surroundings.
Zhongshan, known as Heung-san in ancient time, was an isolated sea island rumored to have been an earthly heaven boasting many a celestial flower. With the endeavor and commitment of generations of great figures in the history, Zhongshan has become an agreeable city to live and a leader in commercial and cultural development nationwide. Le Méridien Zhongshan is located in Gangkou Town of Zhongshan City, with monuments, temples, modern shopping malls and verdant wetland parks all close by. As the first five-star destination of business trip in North Gate of Zhongshan urban area, the 100 meter high-rise of 24 floors is regarded as the most impressive skyline of Gangkou Town.

The design unveils the cultural glamour of this historic town with new visions, throwing guests to the past when the city was called Heung-san. Inspired by “mountains”, it infuses fun and excitement into the hotel and arouses curiosity and a spirit of adventure with French elegance of Le Méridien.
Located in the burgeoning town of Asbury Park, the Asbury Ocean Club, Surfside Resort and Residences is a new mixed-use project on the beachfront. The building design is an homage to the beach house vernacular – simple materials, open, light and airy. The 17-story building will offer sweeping vistas of the Atlantic, and the tower's balconies extend out to accentuate the horizontal quality of the views.
Behind the sober building at Gävlegatan 18 in Stockholm, a mystical environment opens up. To the right stands a large building with many small windows and straight ahead is a bent one. Why all these little windows? And why this noble bend?
All of it is now part of Nobis’s new hotel, Blique. The sober building facing the street, like the one on the courtyard with the many small square windows, was designed by Sigurd Lewerentz, the most ingenious individual of the twentieth century in Sweden. His radical obstinacy has now achieved mythical proportions, which only enhances the radiance of the distinctive courtyard building.
