HOUSE in Beccaar, Argentina by FILM OBRAS DE ARQUITECTURA

Wednesday, October 26th, 2016

Article source: FILM OBRAS DE ARQUITECTURA

This house is a combination of a new architectural entity with an existing house, which has been constructed by “Federación del caucho” in a working-class neighborhood.

The house, which has an irregular slab framed with inverted beams and supported on the main walls, can be identified in most of the constructions of the neighborhood. It has a good construction quality. Now, this neighborhood has become from a working-class to a high-valued district.

Spira in Jönköping, Sweden by Wingårdhs

Sunday, October 9th, 2016

Article source: Wingårdhs

Spira is twisted as a spiral to catch the attention of the eye as well as the body; transparent, to turn every side into a front; compact, to be efficient and sparse; meandering, to create expectation.

The performing arts centre Spira in the city of Jönköping is a regional scene for music and theater in the southern part of Sweden. It is a culturally vivid part of the country, but the performing arts have not had a permanent stage so far. Our proposal is a result of a winning competition from 2005 and the house was inaugurated on 11.11.11.

Seagull House in Guanacaste, Costa Rica by Indigo Arquitectura

Friday, October 7th, 2016

Article source: Indigo Arquitectura

Casa Gaviota (Seagull House) is a project developed through a thorough site analysis and conscious awareness of the environment. Located in a mountain surrounded by topographic depressions, a mellow river and very close to the northern Pacific coast of Costa Rica, it stands lightly and volant on the terrain holding more than 80% of its areas in the air. It touches the ground only as needed, reducing the humidity and soil sealing and maximizing the natural ventilation through the project. The precise east – west orientation allows Casa Gaviota to fully open its north facade providing all the indirect lightning for the house and creating different environments that dramatically change throughout the day. A nearby river that refreshes and nourishes the flora and fauna of the place can be appreciated visually and aurally from the deck. The house stands at the height of the canopy of the trees. The opening between the two modules allows the user to continue its path through the mountain, the same path that existed before the house was built. The house does not interfere between nature and oneself.

We were approached to design a mental health clinic in Saga City specializing in the treatment of patients with dementia. As in other towns and regions, Saga’s aging population has created a greater need for healthcare for the elderly. Ordinarily, healthcare facilities are planned and constructed on the advice of medical professionals with the sole consideration of creating a space for efficient and safe treatment of patients.

Roselind Wilson Design was appointed to refurbish, including interior architecture, interior design and project manage a 2209 square foot, three-bedroom, three-bathroom duplex apartment on the second and third floors of The Bromptons. The brief was to transform the existing apartment into a secondary residence for the client. Marrying the exquisite architectural detail with the interior architecture of the apartment, we ensured it was up to date in terms of technology, whilst clearly reflecting the personality of the client in order to create a space that felt unequivocally like a home away from home.

Apartment Gl in Brasília, Brazil by Estúdio MRGB

Tuesday, September 27th, 2016

Article source: Estúdio MRGB

It’s about a renew of an apartment built in the 80’s, located at Brasília-DF, Brazil. After carefully analyzing the physical structure of the unit could have a clear vision on the real conditions of the apartment.

Narrow rooms due to excess of compartmentation, bad light spaces that caused an enclosure and confined feeling, that describe not an enjoyable place.
