Stazione FAL Matera Centrale in Italy by Stefano Boeri Architetti

Monday, December 23rd, 2019

Article source: Stefano Boeri Architetti

Located in Piazza della Visitazione, the new Matera Centrale train station represents an important link between the city’s old town, post-war and modern districts and a key point of access to the city of Matera in the year that it’s set to become the European Capital of Culture.

“Designing a new railway station has allowed us to anticipate the characteristics of the city which this new station will provide access to, both in terms of location and architecture,” comments the architect Stefano Boeri. “We’ve created a structure that we hope will become a sort of junction, as well as a place to take a break or interact with others. The new public space consists of two empty areas: one that runs alongside the railway tracks (six metres below ground), and a piazza (at ground level), which is sheltered and demarcated by a large roof.”

The old farmhouse in Prato, Italy by B+P architetti

Sunday, December 8th, 2019

Article source: B+P architetti

In an old Tuscan farmhouse there is a residential space renovated with all comforts of a modern house. Light and lightness are the two key words that have accompanied us in the design of this residential space.

The concept idea wants to tell the elements of tradition in a new vision, the wise balance between tradition and contemporary, between light and darkness, between shadow and brightness. Materials with natural finishes and mirror polished surfaces alternate in a dynamic equilibrium, full of contrasts and nuances.

Article source: Generica Architecture + Urban Design

A 3-patio house on a hillside in the city of Tijuana. The house takes advantage of the city views to the east with a linear balcony, then it centers around an entry courtyard that allows natural light to penetrate all the interiors. The hillside helps create a small garden and green roof for the guest bedroom and studio space. The house is in constant dialogue between the inside and outside.

Designed for a social scientist, the project is an interplay of layered spaces. Rendered in white allowing its interior to be a canvass of natural color throughout the day. All of its inhabited open spaces lay in a seamless second-floor level that moves from interior to the exterior as daily life progresses.

Crazy Beach in Constanța, Romania by re-act now

Thursday, October 3rd, 2019

Article source: re-act now

A “successful” socializing space has the responsibility to transform the infinite possibilities of the encounter into reality by transposing oneself into a new space and time, other than those we are used to. but what if the space is “here” and the time is “now”? the design starts by facilitating a dialogue between the space and the context, a socializing that makes itself possible. the nomadic space thus created becomes an extension of the exterior, in a spontaneity out of clear definitions. the encounter place becomes the interlocutor itself who attracts the users into a dialogue about the natural emphasized by textures and raw materials.

A world opened to primary feelings and cultural detox.
