La Manera Gastrobar in Valencia, Spain by Masquespacio

Wednesday, April 12th, 2017

Article source: Masquespacio

Masquespacio presents its last hospitality design project for La Manera, a gastrobar in the ancient city of Valencia.

The project for La Manera consists in seeking to create a hospitality concept that could work by day and by night, adaptable to each moment and requirement, starting with a brunch and coffee during the morning, converting itself in a restaurant during the evening and ending up as a cocktail bar. The business concept concentrated on serving first class food and beverage made of natural ingredients and served by renown cocktail and coffee baristas, allows to create a design project that seeks to find the essence of natural materials. For that the existing building brick walls have been recovered, while a rusty finish has been added to the metallic elements on walls, lamps and the bar. For furniture some metallic elements with the same rusty finish have been mixed with concrete, adding a touch of warmth through brown soft leather and cushions made of different fabrics. Also be recognized in the space is the use of a lattice wall that aims to add a touch of Mediterranean feeling to the space, while the plants seek to connect even more to the natural concept from La Manera.

Solera Supermarket in Cologne, Germany by Masquespacio

Wednesday, March 29th, 2017

Article source: Masquespacio

Masquespacio just finished their last project in Cologne, Germany, for supermarket chain Solera.

Sevillian entrepreneur Pepa Bascón decided to move to the German city Cologne twenty years ago in search of new adventures. After several experiences in hospitality, more than 10 years ago she decided to set up a small store of Spanish products in the center of Cologne, bringing the best of her native country to Germany. Thanks to the good acceptation of her project years further she decided to constitute a more ambitious wholesaler to attend a growing demand of Spanish products by Italian and Spanish restaurants in and around Cologne and Dusseldorf. The augmenting popularity of Spanish gastronomy in Germany, made that Pepa Bascón in 2016 decided to open a new ‘cash & carry’ supermarket with the aim to offer a specific service to non-professional clients in Cologne. For that she contacted Masquespacio to design her new brand and interior space. The design of the new Solera from around 500 m2 was developed in search of a touch of Mediterranean emotion, mixed with functional features necessary for this type of businesses. The predominating black color offers seriousness, contrasted with several ‘happy’ colors that remind to Spain, without converting themselves in typical Spanish topics. Other elements make us think about Andalucía like the grids with ornaments, as well as the awnings and typical Mediterranean tiles.

The Folding House in Chile by B+V Arquitectura

Tuesday, March 14th, 2017

Article source: B+V Arquitectura

The project is located near Lake Rapel, on a site of 896.5 sqm. This is characterized by a privileged view of the lake and a strong slope in most of its development. The budget forces to minimize the intervention in the slope, containing the largest amount of program in the minimum of flat space available at the beginning of the site. This, together with the high temperatures presented by Rapel’s microclimate in summer, implies the following problems: high program density, excessive solar radiation and lack of comfortable space for recreation.

Hikari Yakitori Bar in Valencia, Spain by Masquespacio

Sunday, March 5th, 2017

Article source: Masquespacio

Masquespacio presents its last design for Hikari Yakitori Bar, the second project from the founders of Nozomi Sushi Bar, located in the same district of Ruzafa in Valencia two steps ahead from their actual restaurant.

After the big success of Nozomi sushi bar with a waiting list of 2 months, founders José Miguel and Nuria, together with their disciple Clara, decided to continue to study their passion for Japanese food. This time they wanted to introduce a totally new concept through Hikari, Yakitori Bar, traduced literally in a skewers bar that as well as his big brother Nozomi carries on the name of a high velocity Japanese train. Differently to the previous project the interior designed by creative consultancy Masquespacio, has been inspired by the different quarters and alleys of Kabukicho, Omoide Yokocho y Hajimeya in Tokyo, where most of the of the yakitori bars are established.

Design Concept:

Concretizing abstract thinking enables us to sketch outlines on paper. The orientations of thought are like angles and changes in light and shadow, and different people do not necessarily see details of pictures in the same way. Based on this, we derived a means by which to embody thought and created the Thinking Gallery Space, which allows us to enjoy the thinking process in a tranquil atmosphere.
