Hotel Tenda Rossa is a waterfront property on the Marina di Carrara coast with 70 years of experience in the tradition of hospitality. Throughout several phases it has been expanded and renovated to keep pace with the needs of customers who are ever more attentive to the quality of their accommodations. In this spirit the 2017 renovation, upgrade and expansion work has begun to give a face lift to the building and to house three new suites on the ground floor (sea side). The architectural design was awarded to architect Marco Andreoni while the interior design project was the work of architect Daniele Menichini.
The HC house is part of a master plan for a small family community on a semi-rural area in the mountains around Belo Horizonte, Brasil.
The house is the initial construction of a set of buildings, already designed and to be built, including, besides it, a central kitchen, three small individual houses, a space for yoga practice and physiotherapy and garage.
This weekend house is located in the city of San Bernardino, Paraguay, a summer town bordering the Ypacarai lake, the land is around 50x50mts and it has a view that is not very clean, towards the lake, and a side view towards the sierras of the Cordillera department.
A Work of Substance was tasked to redesign and rebrand The Fleming Hotel, originally opened in 2006. A new take on the architecture, interior, products, and identity transformed The Fleming into a 66-room boutique hotel that is a true reflection of Hong Kong. Occupying a building from the 70s’, the hotel stands in Wan Chai close to Victoria Harbour front. The multilayered design concept draws inspiration from the location and history, leveraging Hong Kong’s maritime heritage and 70s’ industrial era to create a cultural, social and efficient character. One landmark that embodies these three elements is the Star Ferry — having connected people across the harbour for over a century, it is a piece of Hong Kong’s collective memory and identity. The Star Ferry, a unique and elegant icon of Hong Kong’s past and present, became the foundation for every design detail, including the custom designed furniture and lighting. Nostalgia is further evoked by colours and scents: Carmine reds and bottle greens — hues seen on the hull of Hong Kong’s ferries, fishing boats, delivery trucks, and temples —and apothecary-inspired toiletries and custom aroma of sandalwood and amber notes, to deliver an authentic sense of place.
The Lakeway Residence is a contemporary luxury home located in Lakeway, Texas, nestled in the rolling Central Texas Hill Country. This 4 bedroom, 4 bath residence is positioned on a gently sloping site oriented toward distant views that emerge as the treetops descend down the hillside. The double courtyard parti frames outdoor spaces both to the North and South of the residence. To the North, a drive court allows ample space for vehicular access while setting the main entry and massing off as a composition. Passing through the foyer, the high-ceiling living room opens West to a formal dining area and gourmet kitchen on an axis transverse to the courtyard parti. Continuing to the South, 10’ double sliding glass doors open softly to a large pool deck wrapped by the main spaces of the first floor. The long open floor plan, tall ceilings with ample glazing, and the courtyard parti all work in harmony with passive solar principles and prevailing breezes to allow for an efficient green design.
The void of the patio organizes two volumes of five levels with 10 apartments measuring 138 m2 each, in the south of Mexico City.
The lattices and spatial organization of the adjoining constructions help to inspire a project that looks inwards.
With an area of 20 x 25 m, the apartments take advantage of the whole frontage to ensure that rooms are filled with light and air. A corridor links the volumes on the south and north sides, and the courtyard between them.
The project involves the restoration of a small apartment for tourist use in the historical centre of Mantova.
The apartment BROLETTOUNO belongs to a long design research path, which emerges in various interventions on built heritage.
Basically we try to keep together two worlds, the one of the old and the one of the new, in a balance able to guarantee the identity of both of them. Light and shadow are kept together in their ambiguity and plurality, without sacrificing the reasons of one at the expense of the other.
