The project M, a residential building in the centre of Meran, is embedded in the quit area of Obermais. The concept of the design was it to play with transparent and solid surfaces what fallows fascinating insights and outlooks. The interior melts together with the outside space. The terrain flows through the building and finds his renewal in the pool- and meadow area. Because of a refined external design and the arrangement of the pool, lawn, garden and house the whole concept seems like a unity with seamless transition. The ground floor follows the slightly sloping ground like a staircase to get a large garden area. Because of engineering technology considerations the building is conceived as a compact volume with one underground and two upper floors. From the construction point of view the house is built as a concrete construction, furnished with upgraded insulation. The glass-facade, door and window elements are executed as 3 layered glazier.
Placed in Tscherms/Cermes, near Merano, The Kränzel mansion and winery brings together cuisine, art and culture in a unique way. The set of buildings of different ages includes the medieval farm, the Baroque mill and the labyrinth garden that hosts works of contemporary artists. The restaurant “Miil” is in the old mill, which is under protection by the Fine Arts. Here gastronomy, wine and culture come togethere in a high quality unique work.
This project is located in Mosman on a north facing slope looking across Sydney’s Middle Harbour to the Spit Bridge and Clontarf. The site falls away dramatically from a broad and densely landscaped verge on the street frontage, with a high sandstone cliff forming the southern boundary. The house is nestled into this cliff, shielding it from the street, where it appears as a single storey, focusing attention on the magnificent view to the north. Entry is from the side street across a small bridge to a front door that opens to a grand stair descending the full height of the house and dividing it into two clearly differentiated volumes. The southern volume contains the service spaces, bathrooms, laundry, dressing room and a small study, while the northern volume contains the living areas and bedrooms. The glass roofed stair between these volumes has an ambiguous reading, neither inside nor out. It is only when one passes through a series of Oak framed portals that you are officially inside. The lowest level contains children’s bedrooms and a games/TV room that opens to the swimming pool terrace. An undercroft below this level contains the pool equipment and plant room. The middle level contains the main living areas, garage and a large north facing outdoor room opening off the kitchen and dining room. The upper level is given over to the main bedroom suite, home office, study and main entry. The simplicity of the external cement rendered form is enriched with an overlay of light bronze anodised aluminum windows, sliding doors and external sun control louvres, while the interior is defined by the Oak joinery and Travertine floors. The northern elevation is composed of a series of stepped cantilevered roofs and balconies with full height ellipsoid aluminium louvres screening the western facade from the afternoon sun and the neighbouring property.
The house has solid-cast reinforced concrete frame with piers and bridging and walls made of brick. One wall is sloped (hacking brickwork). There are two apartment floors and a basement storey deepened to 1,20 meters below ground level (the only thing deeper is a wine cellar). The services: water pumps, blowing wells, an emergency diesel-generator and a fuel storage tank are located in the basement storey. A sanitary piping, gas and electricity supply are also arranged in the basement.
The project has a very unique characteristic due its location. It is next to the Sports Palace, an arena frequently used for concerts, and the Velodromo Subway Station. Now the link between both spots is broken due a lack of pedestrian walkways, on the other hand there a high demand for parking space that is not satisfied by the parking offered by the Sport Palace.
In the landscape such as the Bay of Boka Kotorska, great challenge can be construction of building beyond a traditional “recipe”. It’s like when you grow up in a diverse ethnic surrounding where yours ” differences ” are not accepted and understood very well. In that situation, we should to celebrate “the differences” between people and like that today, with all social, economic and technological development, we must thinking about structure which will reflect the present, but without endangering “spirit” of the existing natural and built environment – “genius loci”.
Designed by LOVE architecture and urbanism, the main goal of their winning proposal for the 50Hertz Headquarters in Berlin was to develop an innovative, transparent, open headquarters for the company that above all flows from inside to outside. The focus became to create flexible,versatile, and unique working environments, which are traversed by spacious outdoor spaces in the form of terraces, balconies and atriums. In 1948 the Architect Nathaniel Saltonstall, one of the founders of Boston’s Institute of Contemporary Art, established The Colony Club of Wellfleet as a private club for art collectors. In 1952 he built several homes in the International Style for members on nearby Chequesett Neck. In 2008 the new owners of one of these, commissioned Hammer Architects to update and expand their house.
The study starts from the first religious needs and the study of the earliest mosques architecture in Kosovo and in other countries to convey tradition through contemporary architecture. Our objective was to combine in the best mode architecture and religious rules.
