This house is set on a 1,060 sqm site in the last flat urban area of eastern Santiago before the Andes begin.
The plot is 15m wide by 67m length with an existing garden with mature 40 year old trees.
The original house, built back in the 70’s, took no particular advantage of the garden. Despite being uninhabited for almost 20 years the backyard was luckily well preserved and felt like a forgotten park.
Set on a steep hillside overlooking Lake Washington in Seattle, this project realizes the owners’ vision of living in tune with changing light and views. Simple lines, flexible living spaces, well-organized storage, and a rooftop garden all add up to a nest that is anything but “empty.”
Commissioned by the Dallas Parks Department, this new shade structure bridges the gap between two groups of trees at a natural gathering place in the park. The composition of steel components abstract and mimic the surrounding trees to produce similar dappled shade.
The Canadian Language Learning College is a National English Language Institute offering instruction to international students and recent immigrants. Focused on providing a modern approach to learning and fostering a unique introduction to Canadian culture, the directors sought C& Partners to renovate an existing two story brown brick office building at Avenue Road and Lawrence Avenue into a three story flagship building for their Toronto operations.
Zuidoostbeemster is a gardeners village close to Amsterdam next to the Beemster. The Beemster is a special polder put on the World Heritage List of UNESCO in 1999. Zuidoostbeemster is a village with estates of merchants from Amsterdam who initiated this polder.The inhabitants of this village will be double this decade and this growth asks to take action. “De Boomgaard” plays a part in this plan. The building is situated between the old existing village and the new extension of Zuidoostbeemster.
Main Concept
Rationality and Sensibility, the both terms are the base that establishes human culture or intelligence.
Human’s rationality is revealed through philosophy, mathematics and science whereas the sensibility is freely expressed in our lives in the form of art, music, literature, etc.
The both terms can be interpreted into architectural language, where the rationality is defined as a Library and the sensibility is depicted as a Fine Arts Museum.

1. Cultural lighthouse
The neighbourhood ofChapultepecholds a great cultural activities in the streets. Bookshops, temporary exhibitions, cafes and outdoors concerts among others, have become this part of the city in one of the most actives of it. For all of them, a reference in the city, a cultural lighthouse that stands over the surrounding buildings. It can be seen from every place in the city. An urban landmark.
The relocation of the police station to the edge of the city will give a strong impulse to the future development of the harbour site. The judicious positioning and dimensioning of its compact, floating office volume ensures that it fits in with the structure and scale of the former harbour area.

Van Ommeren-Architects made the plans and supervised the renovation of a 1930’s house in Haarlem(NL). The design is completed with the placement of a unique extension. Hidden in a common designed 1930s residential district a remarkable extension is made. On the contours of the old extension a lightweight construction realized a healthier relationship with the garden. The volume is divided into segments with opposite slopes, which optically reduce the scale. Between the different slopes, triangular windows are placed. In this way the interior is lit from above is without compromising to intimacy.
