The diversity and contrasts which is offered by the physical and psychological context of the building site, provoked a certain conceptual objective which goes through every part of the exterior and interior design composition. Aim was to sustain a quantum quality of being here and there at the same time, holding the design at the degree when opposite meanings blend into a single matter. Though the layout and the volumes of the Building were intentionally chopped, to achieve a human scale, it still has the large scale elements like a dynamic shape of a portico or a monolithic surface on the facade of a tower which provide a certain feeling of monumentality.
A residential building on a prominent urban development site at a corner by the Helmut-Zilk Park is setting a vitalising accent on the new district of the Central Railway Station – the contest-winning project of the architecture collective feld72. The building is positioned opposite the already existing Sonnwendviertel educational campus, its striking corner situation creating a landmark within the developing urban district. The building typology harks back to the characteristics of old city buildings, enabling a rich diversity of uses. One of its main focuses is on the practical options offered by the “Stadtsockelzone”, the ground floor area, promoting revitalisation of the neighbourhood.

Conceptualised by the character of its setting and the need for more green areas in today’s urban living, Condolette Pixel Sathorn is the result of the harmonisation between urban lifestyle and secluded green environment albeit it is located in the heart of Sathorn, Bangkok’s most vibrant CBD.
Imperial Doncaster brings the epitome of modern urban living to one of Melbourne’s most rapidly changing suburbs. The 93 unit complex was designed to appeal to a wide demographic, easily catering to the needs of downsizing owner-occupiers with bigger apartment sizes and generous balcony spaces. The design takes into consideration the local suburbs, parks, shopping centre and already established businesses, seeking a balance between the economical, environmental and aesthetic.

The design falls back on the type of courtyard development that is both suitable for giving the Paulaner headquarters an identifiable building and also for making reference to the history of the place and thus continuing the tradition of the former Zacherl brewery. Furthermore, it enables the creation of an administration building with various usages, flexibly mixed, and with variable, largely hierarchy-free occupancy, short distances and compact dimensions. The inner courtyard, as an expressive space and central point of the building, makes it a distinctive location.
There is a clear trend in leading cities worldwide towards urban transformation that is above all the result of social and demographic evolution, reconciling densities and land uses to trigger development.
“Parque Toreo” was designed as a mixed-use complex and as a prime example of this phenomenon of urbanization. The site is located in Naucalpan, State of Mexico, the most developed suburban area with significant commerce to the north of Mexico City. It measures 46,793.57 sqm and includes access to main roads such as: Periférico Norte, Río San Joaquín Avenue and Parque de Chapultepec Avenue.

Nieuw Bergen is set to become a unique part of the city centre of Eindhoven and combines the values of renovated and transformed buildings with new constructions. The urban strategy applied here is based on the knowledge and innovation necessary for establishing a sustainable, pleasant and dynamic living environment for future residents. The design approach echoes Eindhoven’s status as a city of technology, design and knowledge. Nieuw Bergen will get a hyper-modern feel and continues the informal character of the Bergen neighbourhood.
Located across from the St. Etienne station on the Esplanade de France, the influence of the intervention at the heart of the BIA Châteaucreux is a link between neighborhoods and horizon lines, a low point in the topography of St. Etienne in front of a preferred route to the city center. Combined with the scale of the project and the symbolic value of the program, This unique location gives the project a special status in the construction of the city. The project subscribes to the contemporary idea of the construction of the city that leads to the creation of rhythms, of multipurpose spaces contributing to the realization of a less linear environment, able to evolve and mutate. The goal is to embed the large commercial component of the neighbourhood in a more complex urban dynamic, made of interlocking assemblies essential to any large and vibrant city. Thus, the project offers an open floor plan, initiating continuity and affiliations, creating links between polarity and panoramas, hills and plains, lower and upper town.
At the early twenty century Spanish urban planner Cerda believed that the steam tram would dominate the future of transportation in Barcelona and as such designed the “Ensanche”, an urban grid with a 45 degree angle block so that the tram could have enough clearance to turn.
