Danish architects CEBRA’s proposal for a new church in Våler, Norway creates a symbolic landmark in the shape of a tilting cross using light and wood as key design elements for the interior.
The village of Våler, in the south eastern part of Norway, is in need of a new church in order to replace the village’s old wooden church, which burned down to the ground in 2009. The church is of great importance for the local community – both as a social gathering point and as characterizing landscape element. Therefore, the design of the new church has to combine a particular sensitivity and attention to the site’s culture-historical context with a modern architectural expression so as to succeed in creating flexible and contemporary church facilities.
The new Cancer Care Center in Naestved is located in close proximity to the regional Hospital. The purpose of the center is helping anyone affected by cancer through professional help in exceptional buildings specifically designed for this.
Gdańsk Historic Heritage Center is designed to be a multifunctional building and a part of targ sienny / targ rakowy complex – a new project in the very center of Gdańsk. The buildings’ main purpose is to host an exhibition of a large scale model of a pre-World War II center of the city and mark the starting point of tourist excursions around it’s streets. The design of GHHC was to be chosen in a contest for architecture students.
Today suburbia is a typology that has been greatly criticized. We believe that suburbs have great potential in becoming qualified and generous spaces for the inhabitants.
This competition was initiated by Realdania in order to create debate and visions for “The Suburbs of the Future”. Farum is today a fragmented suburb located 20 km from the centre of Copenhagen. The competition area is divided by large roads into islands of eclectic architecture composed of buildings mainly from the 70s and the 80s.
In the world of medicine where leading edge technology and science are key factors in services provided to patients, the opportunity arose to design the premises for an advanced dentistry practice – the Brighton Implant Clinic. The site is a brick Victorian building in Brighton, United Kingdom and is made up of a basement and four floors above ground. The practise is composed of a dental prosthetics lab where dentures and implants are fabricated on the same day as the patient is being treated, allowing the patient to leave the premises with a concluded treatment not having to return to the practice in the future. The practice also has a state of the art CAT scan allowing three-dimensional imagery of the skull in order to assist surgeons in the placement of implants.
Located in the beautiful Marselisborg district, within the centre of Aarhus city – is Marselisborg High School, one of Denmark’s most renowned schools, rich in tradition and history – often featured in books and movies.

In addition to animate forms we have manipulated the movement in order to induce the production of new urban opportunities.

The Oscillate Series is designed to underscore the easiness and lightheartedness of time spent at leisure, aiming to challenge the static relationships in furniture design.

The inhabiting/space populating logic in Inner Mongolia is grouping. Local herds of camels & horses used to browse the steppe in search for comfort. This comfort was only fulfilled when they would arrive to a DECISSION to settle in the landscape. In the same manner, the always present clouds populate the Inner Mongolian sky: groups of rounded & cotton locking clouds spread at the intense blue sky. Finally, also the original nomads will settle their yurts following a constellation. An primary impression of non-organization is quickly overcome by a self-organized logic. Here, the museum volumes have found their own space in the park. The logics of placement come from many different aspects: orientation, functionality, targeted visuals, public space, creating a unique orchestrated sequence of spaces.

Software used: Designed mainly in Rhino. Using several Plug-ins to define shape, structure and façade patterning. For instance, to define the overall building shape, the architects used T-Splines or to apply the façade construction detailing into the façade the architects used Paneling Tools.
