Baardos La Citta in New Delhi, India by Studio Dangg

November 21st, 2022 by Sumit Singhal

The unchallenged grandeur of a city that still draws breath, confined to a space that emulates Roman architecture, Baardos La Citta , a fine dining venue is weaved into the urban fabric of the city – Delhi, India. The design identity being inconsequential to its surroundings, creates an ecosystem within, to disconnect its users from the outside world.

With rudimentary elements encompassing the site, the artistic language of this spatial magnificence mimics the inward-looking Domus to avert the user’s eye from the crummy view. The nonchalant viewer experiences serenity through this unconventional milieu offering exquisite food, refreshing greenery, a grand waterfall, and natural sunlight, all while being indoors.

O DISTRICT in Rome by Loto Ad Project

November 21st, 2022 by Sumit Singhal

Ground floor, where the large hall and the reception desk develop horizontally, and where the office of a publicly traded company finds place together with other meeting and training rooms; on the second floor, spaces are dedicated to co-working, to a recreational space, a place for sharing and meeting rooms; finally, the third floor, with executive offices and workstations for close collaborators. The structural scheme of this 900 square meters new generation “O District” office building replicates that of the functions, with the upper floors representing management and the basis for welcoming. The difference, for Giorgia Dennerlein, lies entirely in the interpretation: connecting the environments, emphasizing the hospitality of the place, creating a relaxed atmosphere that might improve the quality of life in the workplace. To achieve the result, the architect defines the volumes playing with modular desks and chairs, a true architecture within the architecture that uses color as a distressing and dialoguing factor between the different areas.

Courtyard House with Seven Rooms in Nishio, Japan by Takayuki Kuzushima and Associates

Article source: Takayuki Kuzushima and Associates

A house built in the suburbs of Aichi Prefecture. The owner had a large number of images of the house, including furniture, lighting, various finishes, equipment, storage ideas, and use of the window area, which he had collected from SNS and magazines. The images were not always consistent; some were of bare concrete exteriors, some were of wood-paneled exteriors, some were of cool minimalist interiors, and some were of chaotic interiors. Convenient and rational storage ideas and tasteful antique furniture were equally aligned. These were fragments of requests for an ideal life, and I knew that they would continue to change day by day after the completion of the construction. Therefore, rather than trying to compose a space by selecting and choosing from a large number of images, we began the design process by considering the framework in which the various elements would overflow and resonate with each other.

Article source: Aedas

The Fullerton Ocean Park Hotel Hong Kong is a new luxury oceanfront resort hotel situated along Hong Kong’s southern coastline in Shum Wan, backed by Brick Hill and fronting the South China Sea. With its waterfront location, the hotel enjoys a tranquil atmosphere away from the hustle and bustle of a city, yet with very convenient accessibility to the public transportation.

Inspired by its unique landscape and marine surroundings, the oceanfront hotel takes the architectural form of two streamlined towers that respond and blend comfortably within the existing topography, on top of a cascading podium with outdoor terraces stepping down towards the seaside.

DOLCE TACUBO is a Western confectionery shop where you can simply cook high-quality ingredients and enjoy the charm of the ingredients. We pursued a shop design that fits the philosophy of sweets.

The interior is a minimalist space that has been stripped of architectural elements as much as possible in order to bring out the sweets. We aimed to create a space that makes the products stand out even more by adding variations to the colors and textures of the minimalist interior.

Covering an entire block, the tower is a distinctive piece of the city that mindfully sits within New York’s urban grid. It contains almost 3 million square-feet of flexible office space while providing an abundance of retail facilities and new public spaces at ground level. The building acts as a gateway to New York’s vibrant new neighborhood, offering a direct underground connection to the adjacent subway station. 5ª Avenida in Aveiro, Portugal by Mário Alves arquiteto

November 17th, 2022 by Sumit Singhal

Article source: Mário Alves arquiteto

The project is located in one of the oldest streets in the Aveiro city, where the architectural richness of the old facades is a hallmark of the city. The project is based on the demolition of a degraded building and the construction of a multifamily housing and commercial building. As such, given the context of the place, one of the premises of the project is to maintain and rehabilitate the facade of the existing building, requalifying it and thus preserving its historical and architectural value in the arrangement of Dr. Lourenço Peixinho Avenue.

Prazeres 37 in Lisboa, Portugal by Fragmentos

An inner city hideaway

The complex was born from a project to recover and enhance the heritage of a vacant building with an extensive curtilage area. In this latter area, a single independent family housing unit was built, which we present here as Casa Prazeres 37.

One of the main concerns of the design was to develop a volume as an anonymous element, blending into its surroundings.
