ALLEN & OVERY – Modern Law Flexible Office in Karlín, Czech Republic by Studio Reaktor

June 11th, 2022 by Sumit Singhal

Article source: Studio Reaktor

Can we take the DNA of a successful law firm and transform it into a modern, open and airy space? How do we combine teamwork with complicated or discreet meetings? Our solution reflects the dynamic and flexible nature of the contemporary world.

We turned the old cliche, that barrister’s chambers have to have high pile carpets, leather club chairs and an understated lobby, on its head. We drew our inspiration from the client’s work and from its key output – a contract. In our case a contract with design. A contract with a refined space for lawyers, who need focus rooms and teamwork spaces and who often work from home, but need frequent access to modern technology, which is mostly cloud-based.

Article source: DADA

As the name evokes, the house is hinged around a Mulberry tree that was the only feature of a barren site. This Mulberry tree was a very old and mature landscape element when the site was first visited. The placement of the tree became the paramount device to configure the residence design that gave the house its unique identity.

June 10th, 2022 by Sumit Singhal

Developed from the simplicity of the Modern-Minimal Style, the house is decorated with only a few numbers of items, yet all are incredibly unique and reflective of the owner’s character. Unintentionally, the understated elements of modern industrial materials such as steel, mirror, and other materials whose true, natural attributes are left exposed, are combined and integrated to the house’s Mid-Century aesthetics.

The house is among over 10 residences the owner owns, and each has its own highly unique character and identify. MAISON T. is designed to be a party house to accommodate gatherings and parties between friends and acquaintances with a high level of privacy and safety in the time of COVID-19.

Article source: pihlmann architects + Archival Studies

Since 2019, Art Hub Copenhagen has been based in Kødbyen, the Copenhagen Meatpacking District. Within a couple of years, it will move to a new location. This temporary perspective is a premise which is turned into the general dogma: Every element must be reused. Nothing is discarded but rather revitalized through the alteration of function and appearance.

Ritmo Formentera in Spain by Destudio Arquitectura

June 8th, 2022 by Sumit Singhal

Article source: Destudio Arquitectura

After spending the day on the paradisiacal beaches of the island of Formentera, Ritmo is thought as the place to go to enjoy a relaxing sunset and cheer up as the Mediterranean night takes center stage.

The place is located in the nerve center of the island and has the particularity of being a free-standing building, which gives it a magnificent presence from several points of view. The rehabilitation project of the building focused on eliminating palimpsests and emphasizing the semicircular arches as the characteristic element of the building. This action also had the objective of rehabilitating the disused roof and integrating the building into the Mediterranean environment through the lime coating of the entire envelope.

Inserted in a privileged location in the Batel neighborhood, in Curitiba, the 290m2 apartment has a modern and sophisticated essence, with ample spaces and designed in an integrated way to better meet the needs of customers. The initial plan, where the kitchen and balcony were isolated from the other living environments, was modified in order to integrate the spaces, generating a single and wide area where the family’s day-to-day activities converge, in an architecture designed to promote meetings.
