Studio Farris Architects was appointed by KMDA as design architect to provide a new identity to the place, through a solution that defines the new restaurant, aviary, apes- and buffalo- shelter at the Antwerp Zoo in March 2013, in cooperation with ELD partnership, Fondu Landscape Architects and Officium.

Educational Building O in Antwerp, Belgium by META architectuurbureau

META and TRACTEBEL in association with Storimans Wijffels architects just have completed their commission from the University of Antwerp to build an auditorium and research building at the heart of the Drie Eiken campus in Wilrijk. Accessed through 2 spacious entrances, Building O contains 8 auditoriums, 2 microscopy rooms, 1 bio-space and 1 laboratory and also provides space for a reprographic service and 216 bicycles.

The new Port House in Antwerp repurposes, renovates and extends a derelict fire station into a new headquarters for the port – bringing together the port’s 500 staff that previously worked in separate buildings around the city.

With 12 km of docks, Antwerp is Europe’s second largest shipping port, serving 15,000 sea trade ships and 60,000 inland barges each year.

School of Arts KDG in Antwerp, Belgium by Atelier Kempe Thill

Atelier Kempe Thill has recently won the European competition for the transformation and extension of the new arts campus of the Karel de Grote Hogeschool in Antwerp. The new university building in the Van Schoonbekestraat will provide space for 600 students and staff for three academic masters courses in visual arts (graphic design, jewelery design – goldsmith, and art ) and a professional bachelor education in photography. The opening of the new building is scheduled for September 2018 . The existing sister school of the 50s will be transformed according to the needs of the new arts campus and partially demolished. On the east side of the complex a new flexible studio house is realized. In this building there is space for large studios, modern workshops and an exhibition hall of the college.

Matryoshka in Antwerp, Belgium by Burobill

This playful city house consists of a new wooden home built inside the existing brick framework of the old house.
The client bought the house next to his existing home to expand the amount of square meters to live in and to realize a carport to shelter their car, since parking space is rare in the city.

City Fire Station in Antwerp, Belgium by Hub

This project comprises the inner-city renovation of a 1950s office building into a fire station. The project site is located in Sint-Jacobsmarkt,inside the Boulevards and is therefore part of the old city centre inside the 16th century city walls. The multiple historical facades which form part of the surrounding streets cape testify to this.

Is the first detailed design of the Ruggeveld master plan. The planning area covers 6.5 hectares and is located south of the E313 highway. The program includes park design (the blueprint for the “green seams” throughout the entire master plan, landscape design (a qualitative improvement of de Koude Beek Valley), 172 community gardens and a reservation of about 30 additional gardens and a parking for about 50 cars.
