Thursday, July 7th, 2016

Article source: Vazio S/A Arquitetura

The Cerrado House was built at the foothills of the Sierra da Moeda, a mountain range in the state of Minas Gerais. The three-bedroom house has a rooftop pool and a wide staircase that leads to the rooftop terrace. The rooms are right under the swimming pool and have views of the sierra, the Cerrado and its twisted trees. Louvers on the northern and western faces protect against the inclement sun.

Casa dos Caseiros in Campinas, Brazil by 24.7 Arquitetura

Wednesday, June 29th, 2016

Article source: 24.7 Arquitetura

“Casa dos Caseiros” was first created to answer a private order for a social interest dwelling project to be built numerously throughout some cities in Rio de Janeiro state. Unfortunately after some time of development the project had to be canceled by the contractor.

Originally it was designed using steel frame as structural system, after cancelation we have updated the whole project to use structural concrete blocks, more usual in Brazilian construction, and still a rational modular building system. The project was set aside for a while until came the opportunity to build one unit as a prototype and still be used as home for the housekeepers of a property in a rural district from Campinas.

KINDERGARTEN in Brasília, Brazil by ceu arquitetos

Saturday, June 11th, 2016

Article source: ceu arquitetos

The project proposes a volumetric “home”, based on the characteristic features of children’s drawings. The goal is to rescue the home of senses: welcome, belonging and familiarity. The student complex, divided into blocks or “houses”, aims to change the concept of school building and become a landscape in its own right, a metaphor for the playhouse or even a small town. The school becomes a symbol for the neighborhood for having a playful feature that differentiates it from other buildings. The warmly of the “houses” invites us to live our dreams, introducing a bit of fantasy to routine life not only of children but of the entire neighborhood; as well as inspire our lives with a little poetry.

Studio R in São paulo, Brazil by Studio Mk27

Tuesday, May 24th, 2016

Article source: Studio Mk27

Facing a small urban square, the Loft Studio opens entirely to the outside. The inner space of this photography studio flows into the side gardens of the building and into the urban space, establishing a spatial continuity between the square and the building. The façade, an aluminum gate is recessed into the concrete binding, integrating the front patio with the square; further, two large swinging metal gates – each more than 11 meters wide – permit fluidity between the gardens and the open space of the studio.
