Bean Buro took on the design of the expanded headquarters for the reputable travel technology company KLOOK in Hong Kong. The company is located in an office tower in the Central district and was undergoing rapid expansion to acquire more floor space for the growing team of employees. The expanded area is a whole floor of approx. 4,400sqft (410sqm), and would house a new reception, a boardroom, a set of meeting rooms, a CEO room, collaboration spaces, phone booths, and working neighbourhoods for 70+ employees. The new area would also future-proof expansions and departmental changes.
For an international city at pace with the world’s best, Hong Kong was missing an internationally recognized home of comedy. Extruded high above the bustling Hong Kong streets, The Riff is a comedy centric space established to provide its patrons with a world class venue, with the sole aim to entertain.
The site located on the 8th floor above D Agulair street is in the centre of Lan Kwai Fong’s active night scene. The Riff chose this space as the perfect spot to bring the comedy club to life. The aim was to create a dedicated comedy auditorium with an adjoining bar that offered respite from the hustle below. The physical space had infinite possibilities, but the operational and regulatory restraints soon created a more rigid design brief.
H Code is a unique architecture project that provides an urban design solution. Located near the top of Pottinger Street, the long side of the site is along Ezra Lane, a narrow back lane that connects Pottinger Street to Cochrane Street where the Central escalator is located.
At the heart of Soho, the entertainment and art district of Hong Kong, this project aims to integrate the urban texture with a low rise block on the historic Pottinger street and a dense highrise block behind.
