For Harkema, a supplier of tools, materials and personal protective equipment to the construction and industrial sectors, contractors recently completed a new presentable industrial building.
Kilkade in Dordrecht is the location of the new headquarters of Geka Bouw and its parent company CFE Nederland.
Featuring two mirrored towers and a transparent mid-section, the building promises to become a new landmark for the area. Its design is both functional and efficient. In addition, the transparent mid-section offers sufficient flexibility to accommodate for the companies’ future growth ambitions.
Spordtgebouw is a combined sports facility for three separate schools in the so-called ‘Leerpark’. Traditionally, individual schools have their individual gymnasiums. But by combining the sports halls into one compound the quality of sports education can be improved. A higher degree of collectivity of course enhances complexity but sharing also creates added value. It will for instance be possible to differentiate the halls and apply specific functions like a Dojo. During the day the building is dedicated to the schools, but in the evening and weekends it is open to everybody. As such public money will be used publicly.
Unconventional play object design contest, Dordrecht (Nederland)
The Centre for Visual Arts in Dordrecht In cooperation with the Amsterdam design bureau Carve invited 10 European design firms to develop inventive, resourceful and multi-age friendly playful objects to complete the design for the new public space, the Governeurspleinsquare in the city of Dordrecht. Ecosistema Urbano’s “energy carousel” was one of the winning proposals chosen to be implemented.
