Octopus [House in Dubai] in Dubai, United Arab Emirates by STIPFOLD

Wednesday, October 4th, 2017

Article source: STIPFOLD

The glass house is condensed with multiple rooms of various functionalities and in order to balance the busyness, it is executed with minimalist approach. Transparent walls convey a sense of unity of internal areas, as well as wholeness with the external space and amplify the contrast between hot climate and the cool interior. For achieving a privacy in a single room, it may be skirted with remotely controlled white panels, spread with simplified oriental ornaments. Shadows cast by these traditional outlines augment the particular character of the house.

Ambient Tower Dubai- Thyssenkrupp by ZERAFA ARCHITECTURE STUDIO

Friday, January 20th, 2017

Article source: ZERAFA ARCHITECTURE STUDIO

Za’abeel Park has been designed to showcase Dubai’s status as a regional center for the development of high-technology and IT industries through a unique mix of educational and recreational facilities. The development of these facilities within a large scale garden-park setting has created a multi-faceted urban space within the city center for both residents and visitors alike. This urban idea is fundamental to the “new face of Dubai” and the future development of the city within an international context. Within this spirit, the proposed “Emblem” tower for Za’abeel Park should be expressive of the confluence of these regional ideas, energy, and culture which define the modern city with an underlying emotional reference to a more universal iconography.

Hyperloop One in Dubai, UAE by BIG – Bjarke Ingels Group

Wednesday, December 28th, 2016

Article source: BIG – Bjarke Ingels Group

“With Hyperloop One we have given form to a mobility ecosystem of pods and portals, where the waiting hall has vanished along with waiting itself. Hyperloop One combines collective commuting with individual freedom at near supersonic speed. We are heading for a future where our mental map of the city is completely reconfigured, as our habitual understanding of distance and proximity – time and space – is warped by this virgin form of travel.” Bjarke Ingels, Founding Partner, BIG.

DMMRC – Dubai Maritime Museum & Research Centre in United Arab Emirates by Studio Niko Kapa

Wednesday, November 16th, 2016

Article source: v2com

Relating to both the sea and the city and in constant dialogue between them, the building is an extension of the city to the sea and vice-versa. Conceived as a continuation and a transition through the wide public space, the building dives into the ocean and merges with it. It develops as a triangular sharp form, which concentrates the public routes to the museum, through an inviting shape that draws visitors to the entrance and distributes them to the interior.
