White Canvas & 22 feet in Bangalore, India by Kamat & Rozario Architecture

Thursday, May 17th, 2012

Article source: Kamat & Rozario Architecture

The Design took inspiration from the firm’s name – WHITE CANVAS is an independent advertising agency. A blank white canvas takes on the personality of the artist.. We drew an analogy to Absolut Vodka’s “Absolut Blank” Campaign” where artists were invited to express themselves on a blank canvas in the shape of the iconic Absolut bottle. The clean white canvas takes on different Avatars depending on the artists’ imagination.

Fiber-Grass in Delhi, India by Dinkoff Architects & Engineers Inc.

Tuesday, May 15th, 2012

Article source: Dinkoff Architects & Engineers Inc.

The composition of the project is a replica to the picture with grassy field provided by the client; it invented the name for the project, “FIBER-GRASS”.  This theme also implied the extensive use of Sustainable Architecture everywhere in the design.   The woven grass fibers are interposed on the site and intersected by the already established vocabulary of IT buildings. The “conversation” launched between the two, forms a new construct which challenges the traditional approach in architecture- the platonic volumes are visualized by their fractions looking for completion of the arrangement together with the existing IT buildings. They become as prosthesis for each other- the linearity of the landscape, established by already constituted orthogonal system, is interrupted by a new one of the lately added buildings to reverse again in a different direction to the previous.

Article source: Manasaram Architects

This Project is shortlisted in World Architecture Festival,2011
Development and environment are inextricably linked and must be nourished by a change in the means, the content and the uses of growth. Three criteria€™s to be necessarily retained are: social justice, ecological prudence and economic efficiency. As the repercussions and downsides of the western culture and architecture are being discovered and the world is turning towards regional technologies – two definite categories of Development are emerging -one based on the principle of recycling and the other on the use of natural materials capable of being used without requiring industrial processing. Mud and BAMBOO figure prominently in the second category of Development. Bamboo is a premiere building material in the new architectural movement with Sustainability and Integrative approach as its two important criteria. HIGH SCIENCE AND SIMPLE TECHNOLOGY!

Green Roof Residence in Kerala, India by Lijo Reny Architects

Saturday, July 9th, 2011

Article source: Lijo Reny Architects

“I don’t want my house to be seen from the road”, “I don’t want a typical Malayali NRI house” These two important suggestions from the client, directed the architects to design a house with a sweeping green roof hiding the otherwise visible form of the house from the road. If at all anyone got a glimpse of the house they would keep guessing as to what it was, an approach as such towards residential design is new to this place, where most designers fail (read avoid) to think beyond their visual architectural history, let alone a layman.
