HOUSE-K in Tokyo, Japan by K2YT

Saturday, August 9th, 2014

Article source: K2YT

The site is situated amidst the densely packed residential area in Tokyo. Whilst being on a south west corner of the block having frontages to two streets, the elevated railway on the north posed issues of noise and vibration. The corner location offered opportunities for capturing light and air, but the contradiction was that doing so will call for mitigation of noise.

ORANGE in Japan By N MAEDA ATELIER

Wednesday, July 30th, 2014

Article source: N MAEDA ATELIER

Our recent residential project ORANGE is intended to realize a space where children can touch the raw world with their innate, pure sensitivity.

The concept has its root in my personal absorption in phenomenological and ontological spatial studies during college.

Cosmic in Japan by UID architects

Friday, July 25th, 2014

Article source: UID architects

Dwelling is to put oneself in an interactive environmental domain that surrounds humans and other living creatures. There unfold various activities to which living creatures engage themselves for survival. Further expansion of such domain will surely lead us to view the totality of environment as a dwelling as it stretches unsegmented from city to forest and sea and finally from the earth into outer space.

Y7-house in Nagasaki, Japan by Architect Show Co.,Ltd

Sunday, July 20th, 2014

Article source: Architect Show Co.,Ltd

The site is located in the hill of the mountain which can take an extensive view of Omura Bay in Nagasaki. Main concept is to harmonize buildings and surrounding natural environment without destroying original natural landscape.

In order not to destroy sloping land, I made basis protrude from flat terrain and designed one part of house floating from ground and extending in air. Also I spread a planting net and performed planting of a lawn. By this way, I harmonize the house and surrounding natural environment with floating house in natural terrain.
