The year 2015 marks twenty-eight years since the publication of Tygodnik Powszechny magazine’s interview in which Andrzej Wajda announced his intention to create a Museum of Japanese Art and Technology in Kraków – a permanent venue for exhibiting Feliks ‘Manggha’ Jasieński’s collection of Japanese art.

Any time I manage to make something genuinely new, it is made of well-known elements of surrounding reality. It fascinates me as a kind of perversion, kind of unauthorized, unacceptable operation and I think it is the only way to find something truly isolated in art.

Just four kilometres from the centre as the crow flies, a former quarry has become home to a residence with a striking slate roof: the Edge House.

The Concrete and Cedar Lath Villa was designed by Barycz & Saramowicz Design Office and was built in Cracow, Poland, at Jabloniowa Street.
The Villa was composed of two interpenetrating blocks. One is a traditional form in a modern setting with the archetypal gable-roofed house shape which is deeply rooted in the collective consciousness. The other is a modernistic flat annex.

The new store is filled with unique Polish and European brands, rarely or not at all available in other interior design stores. In this shop you can buy furniture, renowned German kitchens, doors, flooring, textiles, lighting, glass and ceramics, decorative items, windows, garage doors, paint and even … special room fragrances!”
The interior design was created for the Institute of Strabismus Treatment deals with the diagnosis and treatment of strabismus, amblyopia and nystagmus in children and adults. It has been prepared under the personal guidance and objectives with a strong focus on the unique solutions that meet the requirements of the clinic of the highest quality and standard of services with reputation on the world.
Bularnia is an honest, functional office space on the ground floor of postindustrial building on the outskirts of Cracov. The goal was to introduce more natural light to dark and overpowering interior. This move redefined new proportions of space and optically enlarged narrow and low room. What’s more, light and transparent finishing materials, such as glass, delicate steel mesh and perforated boards were used to emphasize the openness of new office space.
The building of the Małopolska Garden of Arts (MGA) has been realized according to a competition-winning design by Ingarden & Ewy Architects. The program and the initiative of establishing this new cultural institution in Kraków was proposed in the year 2004, by Krzysztof Orzechowski, Director of the Juliusz Słowacki Theatre and Janusz Sepioł, at the time the Marshal of the Małopolska Voivodeship. It is no coincidence that the building was raised in the vicinity of ul. Karmelicka – a street popular with students and locals alike – opposite the building of the public library, with the aim of ensuring its smooth inclusion into the “bloodstream” of the city.

The new main building of the Polish Aviation Museum in Krakow offers a symbolic and attractive combination of virtually all the symbolisms associated with the museum, including the idea of flying, the atmosphere and structure of an airfield and a passion for the history of technology.
