New Access and Columbarium in Madrid, Spain by Muka Arquitectura

Thursday, June 30th, 2016

Article source: Muka Arquitectura

The local goverment of Lozoya put us in charge of the intervention in the closing and enlargement of the Municipal Cemetery. We had to work on the separating element between, according to Platon, the visible world and the intelligible world, that is, the earthly world from the eternal one. The half-ruined clay wall which needed to be repaired separated both physically and visually the two different worlds, as if both of them could be understood through the wall.

ALUMINIUM HOUSE in MADRID, SPAIN by FRAN SILVESTRE ARQUITECTOS

Tuesday, June 28th, 2016

Article source: FRAN SILVESTRE ARQUITECTOS

A consolidated landscape surrounded by gardens with big trees within the metropolis of Madrid is the fortunate starting point of this house.

The piece, of metallic and horizontal nature, produces the effect of having just one storey. With its proportions and materiality it both contrasts and blends with the tall trees of its environment.

Two. She is determined about what she wants. Authentic wood pavement, geometrical floors, a tatoo as Beyonce´s and gentrifying environment with all the clichés that it involves.

PERÍMETRO in Madrid, Spain by ZOOCO ESTUDIO

Friday, June 10th, 2016

Article source: ZOOCO ESTUDIO

Perimetro is the title of the space created by the young team of architects ZOOCO. A real home in a space of 36 m2.

The project is an open space with a clear and concise geometry, which is transformed into a living space by the compression and the expansion of bands that run around the perimeter. These elements provide it with spatial tension, configurig the necessary circles to accommodate a house in its minimum expression. The scheme is very clear, “full” in the perimeter as a server space and “empty” in the center, as an habitable space. Each wall has a goal and a function by creating one central stay where life carries out. The surface of each wall show outgoing and incoming stays getting the different scenes of daily use. In a panoramic 360 ° from left to right we found: rest area, formed by a wall that connects the sleeping area and the rest area; the bathroom, with a  wall of an urban environment; the kitchen and the dining area, where you will find everything you need to use; and finally, a green area with aromatic herbs that allows to disconnect from everyday life and enjoy of an exceptional area.

A prism shaped structure stands on the remaining grounds of an old corrala* from the 1950s. The space is composed of two blocks that run the length of the plot, which allows all homes to have no less than two outer façades and cross-ventilation.
Between blocks there is a wide courtyard, crossed by three translucent elevated walkways that can be used to access the homes at the northern end.
