Apartment Andre in Minas Gerais, Brazil by Dobra Arquitetura

Sunday, January 1st, 2023

Article source: Dobra Arquitetura

The transformation this property has undergone is certainly impressive. The ground floor apartment already had a super spacious private area, but it was barren and neglected. The interior was quite dark, with closed, small and poorly ventilated rooms.

IC Residence in Minas Gerais, Brazil by Anastasia Arquitetos

Thursday, December 8th, 2022

Article source: Anastasia Arquitetos

The IC Residence is located in the city of Lagoa Santa, Minas Gerais. The land, measuring 5,000 m², is a relatively gentle slope, where the street-facing facade faces east. Solar orientation was a determining factor for the implantation of the house, located in a very hot region, where sun protection is essential.

As it is a weekend residence, leisure is a priority, special attention was given to the configuration of the outdoor spaces, and the way in which the architecture gives scale to these spaces. Although the plot is of considerable size, there is little residual space, most of the plot is usable. In this aspect, the interaction with the landscape project, by Luis Carlos Orsini, was fundamental.

Casa Pasargada in Minas Gerais, Brasil by Bernardo Horta Arquiteto + Meius Arquitetura

Saturday, June 27th, 2020

Article source: Bernardo Horta Arquiteto + Meius Arquitetura

The house is located in a condominium in Nova Lima, a county in the metropolitan region of Belo Horizonte, 25 km from the capital of Minas Gerais. Its simple volume is composed of two rectangular boxes with identical dimensions and external coverings that overlap by a perpendicular design. The contrast between the construction and the presence of the landscape delimits the built space and appropriates the scenery without competing with nature, however assuming human intervention. The green of the vegetation and the blue of the sky transform the landscape and surround the house that permeates the spaces. The large openings frame and direct the views to the surrounding preserved trees, while the vegetation ensures privacy and shadows the internal spaces. The external faces of the logical and straight design, covered with metallic corrugated tile, contrast the organic forms and materiality of nature.

Primavera Farm in Minas Gerais, Brazil by Mutabile Archictecture

Tuesday, November 5th, 2019

Article source: Mutabile Archictecture

The Primavera Farm project is an intervention in a pre-existing property, which had undergone successive extensions without planning or supervision of architectural professionals. Thus, its architecture lacked cohesion, organization and aesthetic unity. The building had transitional spaces in privileged spots, while social spaces were relegated to the background. The project aimed to connect these spaces, taking advantage of the surrounding view and improving the quality of its architecture. The renovation also needed to take advantage of the original structure as much as possible, lowering costs and unnecessary interventions.

Marilia Fit in Minas Gerais, Brazil by David Guerra Arquitetura e Interiores

Sunday, October 28th, 2018

Article source: David Guerra Arquitetura e Interiores

The design for Marília Fit aims to grant healthy meals, from breakfast to dinner, in a cozy, and refreshing space, making people feel better. The walls are filled by a structure of rectagular wooden boxes, in diferente sizes and permeabilities, which are responsible to compose the interior of the store, in a clear reference to the public market and all it’s smells and flavours. The same concept is verified on the facade in yellow aluminum. The chosen color highlights the store, strengthening the relation with the sun, the summer, and the related joy inherent to it. The yellow allied with the green from the back wall, as well as the blue from the couch and red from the chairs denotes a solid relation to nature. The italian earthen toned floor gives the feeling of cozyness and relaxation. The lighting, designed by the architect, plays with arrays of light in various directions. Another highlight are the Gerbar brass fans, which are very effective with minimum echoing. The dark gray and black chosen for some walls endorse the more vivid colors as well as the wood. Marília Fit is a space created as an invitation for a high class experience at eating and welfare.
