Morinoie nursery school in Sendai, Japan by Fujimori Architect Office

Thursday, January 25th, 2018

Article source: Fujimori Architect Office

The site is located in the central area of Sendai city, an area influenced by recent land readjustment projects. It is expected that this area will continue to develop and increase in residential population. With these circumstances in view, we designed an “urban-style” nursery school building that can efficiently accommodate increased numbers of children, while also encouraging their curiosity, creativity, and connection with the local community.

It is the duplex house built in the area letting you feel the tolerant expanse with a lot of temples which has a history of more than 400 years.

The client requested to enable to live by a wheelchair for their parent and the high ceiling space.

We put a house to the west of the site, placed a big garden on the east side with the private road between neighbor’s site, and treated a house and a garden equally.

Dr.S House in Sendai, Japan by SOY source Architects Designed using Vectorworks, FormZ and Cinema4D

Friday, September 16th, 2011

Article source: SOY source Architects

The composition of volumes and steps is the main theme of this house. We place interior and exterior volumes three-dimensionally.   Series of the volumes overlap each other and create several interior spaces separated loosely without having walls and doors between them.   Utility zone is swelled from floor, a kids’ room is protruded from a wall, and a loft is dangled from a ceiling.   Rests of the spaces are distributed to necessary functions following their special demands.
