PISO PUJADES11 is a warm, fresh, luminous apartment, which through a series of quirks allows the owner to explore and maximize the space.

The apartment is a balance between social and tranquil space, the hub of life centering on the vibrant colours of the dining and kitchen area. Leading onto the living room, this converts to an overnight guest area, separated by curtains and reversible sofas. With an additional central bathroom serving the guests.

Sunday, August 7th, 2016

Article source: Equipo Olivares Architects

This project addresses an excess of servitude derived from the demanding topography and strict regulations through a straightforward strategy: a compact, clean and tidy body overlooking the Atlantic’s rising face and enjoying a panoramic view of the Anaga Mountains to the west. It is a simple‐volume step section that tries to sit naturally on the terraced slope.

Noor Restaurant in Córdoba, Spain by ggarchitects

Tuesday, July 26th, 2016

Article source: ggarchitects

Spaces, motifs, materials and light evoke the atmosphere of the Caliphate in the pursuit of a complete andalusian gastronomic experience

When Paco Morales embarked on the opening of his newest restaurant in Córdoba, he parted from a clear and ambitious premise: to regain and reinterpret Andalusian cooking from an avant-garde andhaute cuisine perspective. Therefore, the Cordoban chef didn’t conceive NOOR as a usual restaurant, but as a “cultural project” which would provide diners a complete gastronomic experience, that is, an actual recreation of what a palace banquet at the 10th century Medina Azahara might have been. Thisrequired going beyond a mere gastronomic proposal and involved all aspectssurrounding NOOR: from architecture to staff clothing, taking care and pampering every detail about decoration and tableware.

This modern rammed earth house is located in Ayerbe, a little village in the Spanish Pyrenees. Rural migration in the region during middle 20th century led to the disappearance of traditional architecture techniques. This house attempts to awaken the interest of the community and the curiosity about this type of sustainable buildings that are strongly linked to the territory. The project has been inspired by old local earthen buildings regarding their orientation, morphology and the use of local materials.

Article source: gpy arquitectos

The raised seashore as a territorial landscape intervention strategy

In a landscape characterized by powerful natural elements and particular fragility, the new spa and public pool is configured in form of a bridge, which prevents transformations of the volcanic soil and the coastal cliff. Its implementation minimizes the interference between the building and the protected area of the lava flows originating from the last eruption of the Teneguía volcano in 1971.

“El Coso” Garden and Business Incubator in Murcia, Spain by Cómo Crear Historias

Tuesday, July 19th, 2016

Article source: Cómo Crear Historias

Known as “El Coso”, the place was a great void at the back of the old part Cehegín (Murcia, Spain). After a big snow storm in the 1950s, many of the houses of this neighborhood collapsed or were damaged, leaving that big, sloped empty space. Besides this, the old part of Cehegín seemed to lack inhabitable gardens. The city needs to breathe through them.
