The Director DR8 MK2, RCL’s next generation remote controlled luminaire, features a compact design that is ideally suited to the ceiling troughs of the Grand Ballroom. Special snoots fitted to the luminaires help to reduce glare and direct the light. Both the DR7 and DR8 spotlights can be focused wireless using a simple handheld remote controller from floor level, bypassing the need for mechanical lifts or long ladders. This reduces set up time and avoids the costs and dangers typically associated with manual adjustment.
The Longbeach Apartments are located in the centre of Brighton Le Sands in Sydney; a busy cosmopolitan, beachside suburb near the airport. The area has a busy street life filled with cafes and restaurants. The site enjoys panoramic views of the beach which is why the Longbeach Apartments contain 50 residential units with extensive balconies and a ground floor restaurant to enhances the existing cosmopolitan streetscape.

The Eliza Apartments by Tony Owen Partners has just been completed in Sydney. Designed to be Sydney’s most prestigious and progressive address. We sought a building to fit within the historic context of the area yet was an unmistakeably contemporary and challenging design, combining classic 20th century style with parametric design tools to create a sustainable iconic CBD landmark.
The project involves significant alterations and additions to two existing Victorian-era workers cottages in the inner Sydney suburb of Balmain. Each of the properties are owned by different generations of the same family and our architectural response investigated the interconnectedness and independence of each of these families.

A specific project brief included two bedrooms with built-in robes, bathroom/laundry, an open plan dining, kitchen, living space, and a deck. The Client also required that the home was to be at one level extending from the carport and main entrance.
We were approached by a bachelor who had just bought a penthouse apartment in an upmarket suburb of Sydney’s East. The apartment occupied the entire top floor of a 1940’s building and had great views over Sydney harbour. On the downside it was not very well laid out and the living area was small. The connection of the living area as well as access to the large terrace was also not ideal.
