Apartment in Binh Thanh, Vietnam by Sanuki Daisuke architects

Saturday, April 1st, 2017

Article source: Sanuki Daisuke architects

The project is about a small apartment with seven rooms in Binh Thanh District, a nearly central area in Ho Chi Minh City. The site has unique slightly curved shape by merging several plots of different sizes with the total length of around 40 meters. It is located in a high density area surrounded by two or three-storey buildings. On initial inspection of the site, we felt that there is much potential due to: “remaining urban open space / void created haphazardly in the crowded city”. Therefore, on careful consideration, we concluded that this open ‘urban’ space can be utilized to design both an attractive and well-designed open spaced building harnessing the natural daylight and wind.

Article source: Vo Trong Nghia Architects

This is a residential house located in Gialai city, central Vietnam. The site is 7-meters wide and 40-meters deep, and is one of the typical lots for “tube house”, a traditional typology for residences in the province.

In this house, the long corridor, which is an unavoidable factor for tube houses to connect bedrooms, is transformed into a continuous and sequential space to serve the functions of living and dining spaces, as well as an “outdoor living” space.

Nha que in Nha Trang, Vietnam by a21 studĩo

Friday, February 3rd, 2017

Article source: a21 studĩo

The house is nostalgia for Cham ethnic’s traditional house with a modern living space. The aim of the design is making a house using all familiar local materials and nomal building methods, so the design can speak itself with minimum care for artificial lighting and material use. The house is a 45degree diagonal block, divided the 18mx20m site into 2 triangle gardens. From here, all the views inside the house and toward gardens are framed in various ways – from the combination of basic elements: white brick walls, wooden beams, openings and the roof.

Thursday, January 12th, 2017

Article source: AD+studio

The “HALF ROOF” language beginning from the existing house will make renovation house modern but familiar which still keeps most of the living style as well as the memories of its owner.

For the first time coming here, we have the feeling about the depth of an “aged” house which is filled with its owners’ habit and memories from the very first years after Liberation.
