Embracing AI and Boosting Sustainability Across Project Lifecycles

As the CEO of Graphisoft, I have the privilege of leading a company that is deeply involved in the intersection of technology and architecture. As we look toward 2025 and beyond, here are my thoughts on how emerging technologies—particularly AI, BIM, and cloud-based collaboration tools—will significantly extend the capabilities of design teams.

Looking ahead, one of the most exciting shifts I see is the role of AI in architecture. AI can be a game-changer, and we have already seen the industry putting its powerful potential to use. Today, architects can generate images and even preliminary designs before the first line is drawn by hand. AI-assisted tools help architects create optimized concepts in a fraction of the time it would typically take, freeing up time to refine the creative and innovative characteristics of a project. In the near future, capabilities like automatic documentation could augment creative workflows by automating mundane tasks.
