Teachers College of Columbia University Leverages e-Builder to Establish a Standard Set of Processes to Manage Capital Projects
Fort Lauderdale, FL (PRWEB) May 22nd, 2012 -- e-Builder, the pioneer in fully integrated, cloud-based construction program management software to colleges and universities, announced today that the Capital Projects office at Teachers College, Columbia University, will use e-Builder Enterprise to establish a standard set of processes and procedures, provide cost management and reporting, and support the management of ongoing renovation and future construction projects.
Teachers College, Columbia University is the oldest and largest graduate school of education in the United States and is perennially ranked among the nation’s best. About two years ago, the College’s administration reviewed the existing framework for facilities management and capital project management (CPM). The new CPM team is staffed by 3-4 project managers responsible for $5-7 million in construction and renovations. Laura O’Connell, Director of Capital Projects, said “even though these projects are smaller in budget, the effort is tremendous, as smaller projects have a tendency to be much more difficult to manage”. Going forward, the capital program is expected to expand to a 5-year, $50-60 million program.
