The new mountain bike hotel on the edge of Pregasina in Italy offers sports enthusiasts a unique place to stay, an unforgettable view and a fast connection to an impressive variety of routes, trails and single tracks.
This farm building dating back to the 16th century has a particularly rich history. Today, this adventure is continued by the rehabilitation of the Theatre du Châtelard. The farm, composed of dwelling places, barns, stables, ovens, gardens and orchards, became Voltaire’s property in 1759; the latter undertook improvements in order to house there the domestics of his nearby castle.
The Pulsen Community Center unites an array of exiting facilities under one roof. With a combination of baths, fitness areas, doctor offices and a community gathering spaces the design creates a unique new building typology, which aims at promoting interaction and creativity for all the inhabitants of Balling.

Software used: Mainly AutoCAD for all drafting; Sketch-up, Rhino and Photoshop for renderings and Illustrator for diagrams. Also do a series of sketch models to test out different schemes and concepts.
Downtown Los Angeles based design group APHIDoIDEA proposes the eCORRE COMPLEX, The Environmental Center of Regenerative Research & Education, to the City of Long Beach in California. The project takes the ISO container used by the Port of Long Beach (2nd busiest port in the World). Designed and placed as a FINALIST entry for the AIA-LA / USGBC Emerging Talent Design Competition, APHIDoIDEA re-adapts the shipping container as core building elements and implemented sustainable strategies to educate its visitors and users about “green” building practices such as solar energy, water collections, interior daylighting, rooftop gardens, passive cooling techniques, reuse of grey water, to name a few.
In 2004, Eight Inc. garnered first place in the Malama Learning Center International Architectural Design Competition among 236 submissions. The Mālama Learning Center is a non-profit organization that brings art, science, conservation, and culture together to promote sustainable living throughout Hawai‘i. The Mālama Learning Center is the result of a shared vision among educators, conservation groups, businesses, and community members to create an innovative learning center on Oahu to promote healthy, sustainable living in an island environment.
Construction of a structure dedicated to theyoung children
The site of the Maison de la Petite Enfance (early childhood center) is located in the commune of Versonnex (Pays de Gex). This region of the Lake Geneva, a few kilometers away from Geneva , is experiencing a profound mutation: what used to be a rural area is now turning into a zone of urbanized densification – which is not always well-managed.
This house for a family of four is located in Bellmund, Switzerland, nearby Biel. Situated on a small plot, the structure’s “house” shape maximizes its height to ensure views of Lake Biennem, while a terrace space is cut from the roof volume. The house has a wood structure, as is usual in Switzerland. The skin is clad in grey industrial panels – a rough and weather resistant material with low costs. In contrast to the modest and functional exterior, the wooden structure is revealed within to give the interior an inviting sense of warmth.
The theme of Urbanity in Nature refers to the preservation of the natural qualities of the Yanqing site, located 200km from Beijing, whilst accommodating a certain essential level of urban city life density. The design for the Beijing Creative Zone encompasses compression on a dual scale; the greenbelt and the urban fabric.

The vision was a customised building, incorporating the impressive panorama at the foot of the Alps with a lifestyle demanding variable solutions. The owner’s specifications were a house combining living and working areas under one roof.
Fine Arts School Attached to China Central Academy of Fine Arts
The new 136.000 sqm campus of the Fine Arts School Attached to China Central Academy of Fine Arts is located north-east of Beijing. Some buildings of the ensemble had been structurally completed when Synarchitects was getting involved in the project.
