Gaurav Gupta Couture

Saturday, August 3rd, 2013

Article source: Gaurav Gupta

The concept of the store is born out of the duality of Gaurav’s collections for his Pret and Couture lines.

This 1200 sq ft space is conceived as an immersive environment sculpted in monochrome. Sinuously wrapping cast concrete walls seem to surreally float within the relatively tight volume, and slice the space into two zones without dividing it balancing a constant sense of reveal and discovery.

Article source: T38 Studio

On a site where we are designing 11 single family homes, HDJ86 is one of the first ones to be finished. Built in Tijuana, we have taken advantage of the increidible construction craft that is available, in which construction workers have worked in both the USA and Mexico, so they can perfectly execute construction techniques used in both countries. Each one of the houses is different and deals with different issues and concerns that we have.

NYC Tower Proposal in South Street Seaport, New York by MA2

Saturday, August 3rd, 2013

Article source: MA2

The concept proposal is located in Manhattan’s South Street Seaport as an office tower with an adjacent parking structure. In its inception the tower is a product of preserving angles within a complex plane grid, which has been interfered by a Mobius geometric transformation. By manipulating a two-dimensional grid using asymptotic developments, it generates a series of automorphing patterns and higher dimensional structures.

San Giacomo Church in Ferrara, Italy by Miralles Tagliabue EMBT

Saturday, August 3rd, 2013

Article source: Miralles Tagliabue EMBT

The Parish complex of San Giacomo is proposed as a catalyst for the area in which it is introduced, creating a new fulcrum that is capable of creating identity within the local community by promo-ting socialization, education and interaction. The building is designed to have a welcoming presence that is open to the people, doing so through the use of lightweight organic architecture that contrasts with the robust and compact materiality of the historically important preexisting Ferrara.

SOUTHLANDS RESIDENCE in British Columbia, Canada by DIALOG

Saturday, August 3rd, 2013

Article source: DIALOG

The Southlands Residence nestles into a mature, heavily vegetated corner site in Vancouver’s historical Dunbar-Southlands neighborhood. A year-round fresh water stream divides the irregularly shaped property as it threads its way below Marine Drive to the south. The lush basin resulting from long-standing environmental forces sets the stage for a dramatic and highly contextual architectural response. The Southlands Residence spans the riparian environment and sets up a circulation sequence that culminates in a grand south facing outdoor ‘room’ on the water’s edge. The design capitalizes on moments of natural splendor in social zones while playfully borrowing from foliage and topography in the creation of private contemplative spaces.
