Restructuring and extension of the Proudhon secondary school in Besançon, France by Tectoniques architects

Wednesday, July 8th, 2015

Article source: Tectoniques architects

Proudhon secondary school was built in 1971. It is located in the Palente district, to the north of Besançon. It is surrounded by the Pergaud sixth form secondary school and the Orchamps gymnasium. The original architecture is typical of the mass urbanisation of the 1960s and the policy of standardisation, two phenomena which forged the “ordinary” heritage of the 20th century.

WAPPA BOUTIQUE by Joan puigcorbé

Article source:  joan puigcorbé

Through the repetition of a frame and variation of its shapea vacuum is formed, that without initial features, becomes an architectonic space full of possibilities;a space that lends itself to the interpretation of the ritual that make up theselection, purchase and enjoyment of select pieces of clothing. Treated as a proscenium andstage, both are merged into one continuous space covered under the sinuous texture of theatrical drapery, where the client takes on the leading role in an act that transcends the mere purchase, sublimating the process that heightens the enjoyment of clothing.

TWO MOON in Gyeonggi-do, Korea by Moon Hoon

Tuesday, July 7th, 2015

Article source: Moon Hoon

The client:

Sometimes, clients bring in a clear idea or a name of a place they envision. This time, a movie named two moon junction surfaced when we first met. He talked about building a private cultural center centered around a coffee shop and a gallery. A free spirited space , somewhat erotically charged like the movie,  a place full of festivity and relaxed atmosphere. The other important criteria included providing two separate buildings,  one for the client, and the other for his younger brother.  The budget was extremely low, so from the start we decided to build simple boxes with some impact points.

Scouting Rhenova in Utrecht, The Netherlands by EVA

Tuesday, July 7th, 2015

Article source: EVA

Commissioned by the scouting association Rhenova, this is a clubhouse designed on a triangular site adjacent to the Leidsche Rijn Park. We chose an autonomous, oval volume that fits within this context. As a Scouthome, it was important that the inside and outside — the building and the grounds — interact. But also that it be a familiar, tough building.

Article source: PAREDES PEDROSA ARQUITECTOS

The village is small and the building is of a small scale, with a correspondingly small budget and program that included formal configuration of this square, a transcendental feature of rural Spanish life that the village lacked.
