Article source: PARKA

Arvi is a restaurant where the cooks are also the waiters. This unique concept has been a pretty good challenge, as our team had to find a solution to integrate a central kitchen in a small space.Parka worked with food service consultants and kitchen equipment specialists to precisely define the circulations of the staff and the work’s logistics.

P.B office in Taipei, Taiwan by Fu design Studio

Tuesday, December 18th, 2018

Article source: Fu design Studio

The three major central concepts of “penetration”, “cladding” and “cleanness” are in line with the company’s brand image. We begin to visualize this foundation to be pure and clean under the framework of a big space. Where necessary, it can also be divided into the independent units and the combination of materials having not been excessively processed can make the space produce the dialogue.

Daylight is admitted down to a protected sitting area inside the embankment through a prism-shaped skylight, which protrudes from top of the barrier as a signal to passers-by.

Argentona Apartment in Spain by YLAB Arquitectos

Sunday, December 16th, 2018

Article source: YLAB Arquitectos

The project consist of the remodel of an apartment located in an old building in Barcelona’s Gracia district. The former 90 m2 apartment, was heavily partitioned with up to 6 rooms and gave off a dark appearance with almost no connection with the outdoor space.

The new owners, a Norwegian couple in love with design and with the city of Barcelona, had understood the potential of its sunny inner courtyard covered with ivy vines, and chose to buy it as their holiday residence. They wanted to transform it in a bright and open space and create a semi-exterior garden to overcome the lack of an outdoor space.

Article source: FRAN SILVESTRE ARQUITECTOS

A glance over this place shows us a C-shaped space, which fits the proposed program. It is a small office dedicated to customer service. The rectangular floor plan, to which the communication core of the residential building in which it is located is subtracted, distributes the space in a large corridor attached to the dividing wall and two rooms.

A bold and unusual extension to a Victorian end-of-terrace house in Stoke Newington. Focused around a double-height internal courtyard; the project employs a palette of richly coloured and textured materials to create a unique and unusual family home.

nimtim were approached by a young family who had recently bought an end-of-terrace Victorian house in Stoke Newington. The house was in a state of disrepair and priority was placed on upgrading and creating an open plan ground floor family space. Block 41 in Seattle, Washington by GRAHAM BABA ARCHITECTS

Monday, December 10th, 2018

Article source: GRAHAM BABA ARCHITECTS

Located in the downtown Seattle neighborhood of Belltown, Block 41 celebrates the legacy of an historic warehouse while transforming it into a contemporary, multipurpose event space. The 15,000-square-foot, two-story, brick-and-heavy-timber building began its life in 1927 as an ice warehouse. Over the years it was subject to multiple renovations and modifications, resulting in the fragmentation of the building’s large volumes into a series of dark and maze-like rooms. The new design highlights the building’s history by stripping away later insertions and partitions to reveal its hard-won patina, while simultaneously opening up the volumes to create spaces large enough for formal events, yet flexible enough to accommodate intimate gatherings.
