Renga Architecture 2.4 Version Released for Architectural CAD Design

From St. Petersburg, Russia, the ASCON Group, the developer and integrator of professional AEC, MCAD, and PLM systems, has announced the release of Renga Architecture 2.4, architectural CAD design software. The Russian company has incorporated into the new release the concerns of users, such as separate views of individual objects (such as columns, beams, windows, and doors), an update to the display style dialog box, and a way to locate offset columns and beams.

New Interoperability Agreement between Trimble and Autodesk Improves Data Exchanges and Workflows

Trimble and Autodesk, Inc. entered into an interoperability agreement to improve current data exchanges, aimed at saving customers’ time and reducing project costs typically associated with workflow inefficiency across different suppliers’ technologies. This will benefit architects, engineers and contractors, and importantly, project owners by enabling more freedom to optimize technology workflows needed to meet the complex requirements of today’s construction projects.

Tekla Structures Used for BIM in Three French Stadium Designs

To their credit, Tekla Structures, a Trimble company, was used to model and construct the stadiums that will host the Euro 2016 competition in France. The Le Parc Olympique Lyonnais in Lyon, the Stade Velodrome in Marseille and the Matmut Atlantique stadium in Bordeaux were all modeled using Tekla Structures building information modeling.

Bentley Design Applications and TopCon’s Mobile Work Force Streamline Field Operations with MAGNET 4.0

In early June, Topcon Positioning Group and Bentley Systems unveiled a new level of direct communication between Bentley’s design applications and Topcon’s mobile work force products found in the forthcoming release of its MAGNET 4.0. With direct communication from MAGNET Enterprise to Bentley’s ProjectWise, users of Topcon’s family of MAGNET and 3D-MC software solutions can now, while working in the field, access or receive i-models created by Bentley’s OpenRoads design modeling technology. Archicad 20 Involves BIM in the Early Stages of Design

Eniko Paulo, business development manager for GRAPHISOFT, spoke on the new release of Archicad, Archicad 20. The new release seeks to extend user information usage to the information management stage, looking at how can we involve BIM way in the early stages in the design. BIM is part of the whole lifecycle and the BIM model is used by those not even using BIM software.

In 3D perspective view, users can switch to a two‐point perspective in any camera position, maintaining the original position and viewing angle. As a result, all 3D vertical edges become vertical in perspective projection.
