1. NEW HIGHLIGHT

Our project has been raised as a new geographical configuration within the elongated Aburrá Valley, halfway between the Cerro Nutibara and Cerro El Volador. It is an architectural topography with specific qualities of space and landscape: from the distance or from the top has a geographic image abstract and festive; urban or from inside, the movement of the deck structure generates the access of a light dimmer and filtered, suitable for sports events.

2. POSITIONING OF THE BUILT

The unit Deportiva Atanasio Girardot, inscribed in a wide perimeter of city, suggests an act of positioning of the built: the felt North – South (with a slight incline to the West), determined by the best positioning of the discovered sports fields. Our project joins the existing urban sense, with the location of the three new sports arenas in the same position as the coliseo Iván Bedout, allowing the following advantages:

A. The Atanasio Girardot sports unit within continuity and pedestrian and visual introduction of the race. (The small deviation who suffers this important route to reach the sport unit, is continued and emphasized in the draft).

B. The creation of four new places triangular and connected, which enrich the urban space of the stroll of the 70 career, and also allowing social and sports exchanges.

C. Free pedestrian movement around all the buildings, crosses and various urban pedestrian walkways.

3.  STRIPES OF RELIEF AND UNIFIED URBAN AND ARCHITECTONIC CONFIGURATION

Our project understands the interior and the outside, it built and open, in a unified way. The public space and the arenas are raised in a continuous spatial relationship, thanks to a large built deck through a large swathes of highlighted, perpendicular to the main sense of the positioning of the buildings. The four arenas work independently, but from the point of view space and urban are behaving more like a large continent built with open public spaces, public semi-cubiertos, and interior spaces sports. (Geographic form).

4.  SHADOW

We propose a public space defined by a broad shadow generated by the extension of the cover bands as extensions apergoladas.

5. GROUPINGS

Our project presents three possible groupings:

A. each of the four arenas can be understood as an independent building, urban related to each other.

B. The three new arenas can be understood as a single large building, independent of the Colosseum Bedout Ivan.

C. Four arenas can be understood as a great place that sets both the buildings and public space.

6.  FLEXIBILITY AND TRANSPARENCY

Our project raises the possibility that new buildings function as separate units during the games, but also the possibility that at other times to open up in their faces North and South, so that they can behave as a large public park covered and sportswith Visual slides and spatial continuities. In this latter case, the programs that are under the grandstands, would control independently.

7 BUILDINGS OF LOW SCALE

In each new sports venue programs and areas of competence sink slightly with respect to the urban level, and covers rises to get the proper height of powers, without the need of constructing buildings of large scale or urban impact.

8.  STRUCTURE AND MATERIALS.

The shape of the buildings is defined by the structure itself, and for this opts for a structure modular steel which allows to optimize the process of manufacture and Assembly.

The deck structure is raised in metal trusses in lattice (the cheapest on the market) that are assembled every five meters. These beams drawer, by way of parallel portals allow overcome the lights of the courts without any difficulty, and are supported by a series of double columns specifically reinforced, located at the ends of the stands and outdoor areas. This allows build independently each beams drawer, optimizing times in manufacturing and the assembling. Some canoes that collect water and dilate the covers allowing the entry of light filtered through lateral closings, Opal polycarbonate are proposed between beam and beam. Box beams come armed plant in modules of 12 meters and are assembled on site through simple work cranes: this system is the most simple and efficient in the country for the erection of prefabricated steel elements. The metallic elements must be galvanized of plant and their unions will be pernadas and screwed. Already mounted structure to apply a polymeric painting as second protection. The metal structure will be covered at the top by a “sandwich” superboard, tibek of Dupont, plastic mesh with downside of LaTeX (stone mix of Grossa) and as a finished end cristanac of several shades of green.

The structure of the stands will be in reinforced concrete and the stands will be manufactured in the same material.

9.  REPEAT, INDUSTRIALIZATION, MODULARITY AND SPEED

Our project raises the encounter of two types of materials:

A. strip 1

Soils, the structure of stands, the stands and columns are concrete, with the option of prefabricar areas of stands, and work with a single type of column.

B. strip 2

The stripes of roofs, are constructed from lightweight metal trusses together again by smaller metal trusses, you modular, repetitive, and easily industrializables.

10.  BIOCLIMATIC

The raised deck stripes are oriented parallel to the Sun, so that sunlight would never accede to the interior of the buildings directly.

In its northern and southern sides buildings allow the direct passing of air currents and each building has extensive cross vents.
