It can be concisely summarized the project to a gesture.

The respect for the site, not in the sense of the landscape, but of the habits and attitudes inherent in the “feel “of the place become evident when inserting the building in an area where are cultivated the principles of identity of the surrounding environment and a strong sense of preservation.

Saturday, June 11th, 2011

Article source: will bruder architects, ltd

The architecture of Loloma 5 is a thoughtful and sophisticated acknowledgement of the traditional and modern roots of its Old Town Scottsdale context—a place with pride in its false-front, covered boardwalk, and “old west” friendly downtown image. The project creates a live/work environment in the heart of Scottsdale that celebrates both the historic and physical context of the place.

Article source: Mohai and  Boczkó Architects

The construction site for the reformed church is located in Vác, in a small hHungarian town near the capital Budapest. The aim was to design a recent and modern churchTemple with low budget in the background. The contour of the building has been determined by the amorphous shape of the building site – the most practical exploitage, the slightly curved streetline on both land-side and the road sight / view.

Stella Zwei in Vienna, Austria by Zechner & Zechner

Friday, June 10th, 2011

Article source: Zechner & Zechner

The newly arisen VIERTEL ZWEI is characterised by the all-pervading attempt to develop an urban situation that generates a spatial definition for contemporary worlds of work. This Viertel Zwei, which is dedicated to the use of work in the tertiary and quaternary sector, service and information, has been configured as a self-contained place. The area is noted for having superb internal connection qualities and for the park-style quality of its public zones. The two elements of meadow and water prove that the necessary period of relaxation at work, the breaktime, has also been thought about in a visually present way and as an opportunity to feel. The only two exceptions from the application of work, which constitutes Viertel Zwei, are a hotel and a residential building.

Bike Share System in Copenhagen, Denmark by RAFAA

Friday, June 10th, 2011

Article source: RAFAA

Higher Density & Sustainable Transportation

In the post-oil era, the cost of transportation will rise dramatically. The solution lies in the densification of the city as well as in finding alternative ways of commuting. The long term question remains, how much density Copenhagen can afford and at what price. A first step into the right direction has been done by expanding the existing, extensive network of bike lanes into the suburbs. Additionally, there is also a network of 13 highway bike routes for bicycle commuters in planning. They will connect the suburbs with the city centre. The new Bicycle Sharing System must be integrated into this concept to create synergies with other fields, e.g. public and individual transportation. It must become an integral part of a comprehensive transport and energy policy.
