Article source: Greenland Group Greenland Group has announced construction plans for the world’s third tallest building, to be located in Wuhan, China. As the largest city in central China, Wuhan is a political and cultural center and an important strategic central core. The city has long been in need of a global center with a high reception capacity. Located in Wuhan‘s business district, Wuchang, the construction project, dubbed the Wuhan Greenland Center, is to become the chief high-capacity central space for the area.
Several national and international sporting and cultural events have brought Wuhan onto the international stage in recent years. China‘s economic boom has also seen the need for more intelligent real estate projects and city planning and spaces. The recent “Wuhan Green Center High-rise Conference,” organized by the Marco Polo hotel, was commenced to further attract attention to Wuhan and its community. More than 50 international media representatives, 20 Hubei media reporters and over 300 enthusiastic individuals were on scene to observe the conference. Greenland Group’s Deputy General Manager of the Wuhan Real Estate Division, Mr. Li Ming delivered a speech at the conference outlining why the Greenland Group will build the world-class high-rise buildings and commercial complex in Wuhan. The ultra-high-level conference program also offered the two top design teams: the United States‘ AS + GG and Jerde Architects — designers Adrian Smith & David Rogers. They delivered a speech explaining their architectural designs. The Director of Marketing for Greenland Group’s Wuhan Real Estate Division, Mr. Lvzhenxing, talked about building the “green” center, and what changes it will bring for Wuhan, also outlining the city, regional, business, and other major industrial development opportunities arising from it. It will provide a platform for cooperation while changing traditional concepts in construction development. This program will focus the world’s high-end commercial and residential elements together in Wuhan, building a top consumer platform while forming strong business operations and market consumption and speeding up the flow of commercial capital in a “chief central location space.” As Wuhan expands, the real estate industry has made rapid development, but the buildings that can provide high-quality world-class platforms are very few. The Wuhan Greenland Center will visually enhance the city’s internationalization and improve the city’s investment environment. Wuhan Greenland Center will become one of the world’s top-500 high-end commercial spaces. Designers Adrian Smith, AS + GG co-founder, one of the architectural design firms, has been in the construction industry for over 40 years. Some of the world’s most prominent landmarks are his masterpieces, including the JinMao Tower in Shanghai, China; Boston, Massachusetts‘ Rolls-terminal and the world’s tallest building “Dubai Khalifa”. Jerde’s David Rogers is an FAIA member. Today, nearly 100 projects completed in cities around the world can be attributed to Jerde Architects, including projects in Las Vegas, Hong Kong, Los Angeles, Osaka, Rotterdam, Seoul, Shanghai, Tokyo and other cities. The common desire of the international design masters is: “Wuhan is to become the central core of China, and become a new landmark in central China“. Central China‘s top building construction, to build a world-class central area At about 300,000 square meters, the Greenland Center covers a variety of top-level formats, including Art Galleries, an art-themed Lounge, a 360-degree screen viewing room, a top membership entrepreneurs club, top dining club, air lobby bar, a bird’s-eye view corridor, super 5 international gold star hotel, international serviced apartments, international 5A class office building, 100,000 square meters of office space and a 10,000 square-meter International Conference Exhibition Center. The 606 meter Greenland Center exemplifies Wuhan‘s new height, new future, and also showcases Wuhan‘s rapid development. A high building represents a city’s image and dignity. The Center’s value has exceeded the value of the real estate itself, creating an international space that will add cultural, environmental and economic value to the city of Wuhan and the region.
