Les Franqueses Del Valles

From environmental preexistences  and the sunshine consideration the house is built as a view point of the landscape, well orientated to the environment and protected to prevent the non wished sights from the street.  From the acces, the view is dominated by a wall of limestone that locks the court. The same  body of the house protects the back garden from unwished sights looking itself like a locked box. On the other hand, the view of the building from the swimmingpool show us a house absolutely opened with a clear transparency to the end of the inside court.

Les Franqueses Del Valles

When we get closer to the house from the entrance, the paved surface gets reduced and the grass begins to win a predominant place until bushes and grass become an extension of the natural environment, loosing themselves meaningfully the edges of the house domain and the natural field. The garden has been restoked with native Mediterranean trees and bushes in order to break the edge line between the natural and humanized issues.

Living Room

The house organizes itself around a court, a court that facing the back to the road gathers the light and the natural sunshine, organizing all the rooms of the house around it with a living room as a main place totally opened to the landscape at the north face and to the court at the south face.

Dining & Kitchen

The front glazed side of the court acts as a space of circulation and connection of all the rooms (as the program of the house determine), making a dilution between the outside and the inside of the house. The court is the main part of the house, present on the usual life and having the flexibility to adapt to the different uses you can imagine, opening or closing the court with the intention of communicate with the outside landscape or getting it as an outside private space of the house.  The program of the house is organizated around the court getting apart the day zone from the night zone.

Staircase

The four rooms of the kids are situated on the east side of the house and the connection area becomes a zone of living room and playing room. This space can be isolated from the rest of the house by a sliding door of the same oak wood of the floor. The couple room is situated on the north-east side with huge views of the natural landscape and the swimming-pool, you get into the room through a court that isolate it from the rest of the rooms giving also a natural sunshine light to the dress-room and the private bathroom.

Exterior Space

The kitchen and the washing-room are located on the other corner of the house, near the main acces. The central cooking island is the protagonist issue of the kitchen where huge views of the landscape and the late afternoon sun are enjoyed. The washing room and the courtesy bathroom gets the ventilation through a court that  communicates with the basement floor generating a convection circulation of the air and hiding the space to outside sights.

Exterior View

The studio is on the top floor, connected by a double high space with the swimingpool zone, wich has been treated with opening windows on the four sides intensifying the relationship with the around landscape and the natural environment.  The house has been covered with a white limestone in order to reach the outside perception of an inmaterial box. The pavement of the roof cover is also white.

Green Park

The interior of the building is austere, getting the principal signification the pavement of natural oak paved surface that honours the all oak that still remains alive in the garden and the light coming from the inside court that gets into the rooms of the house without any obstacle.
