Article source: Sara Romero y Mariano Vallejo, Arquitectos EXHIBITION AND A INTERIOR DESIGN. AVANCED TOLEDO DISTRICT, SPAIN. THE AVANCED TOLEDO DISTRICT IS A JEAN NOUVEL AND MIA HÄGG MASTERPLAN LOCATED IN SANTA MARIA DE BENQUERENCIA NEIGHBORHOOD. Our commission is to project an exhibition (including curatorial work, design and production of the whole proposal) within the Visit Pavilion of the Avanced District, that explains the Masterplan (Jean Nouvel and Mia Hägg), the Project of Particular Interest (Paz + Cal, architects), the Landscape Study (Ana Coello) and the history of the neighborhood where it is located, Santa Maria Benquerencia. Likewise we define the project and indoor furniture, so as to allow placement three jobs in the entrance area and an audiovisual room on the first floor.
The exhibition refers to the special treatment that the Masterplan does of the architecture and landscape. The aim is to recreate an artificial nature where information, perspective, reflections, lights and shadows are based on a sequence that accompanies the exhibition program. For the exhibition we use glass panels to make the divisors of the space and it also contain the information. Because of the transparency and the use of a mosaic of images, texts and squares of different shades of green, the exhibition succeeds in enveloping the visitor. In order to do more educational the visit, we used videos, sounds, smells, and so on. , That bring visitors near to the future Advanced Barrio. Also, the solution chosen for the exhibition (based on some vinyls mounted on a glass), allows fast and cheap changes on the information of the exhibition, in order to make new exhibitions in the future. The exhibition can be visited from Monday to Friday from 8:30 to 13:30 in Hall visitor’s Advanced Toledo District, whose address is: Avenida Rio Boladiez No 144 of the Santa Maria Benquerencia in Toledo.
