Article source: bauzeit architekten On a site adjacent to the main street of Pieterlen 12 residential units were built. On the site, there existed an old watch factory, which was partly demolished. A simple body is built and added to the existing studio. The issue of integration for the residential and factory buildings was to be recorded and re-interpreted.
The studio is clearly legible and the interplay between old and new is well-understood. A second building was reset spanning and serving an area on which the development area, the forecourt and play street take place. Gardens and green areas are disposed south of the construction and away from the road. The compact construction corresponds to the latest Swiss technical and energy standards.
