Article source: Chikara Ohno / sinato A new house built on the misshapen site for a family of four. The site faces the urban scale such as parking area and public pool. So it was better to keep enough distance from them, but the house open to the outside was required. We placed 3 rectangles along the site, 3 quadrangles between the rectangles and 1 triangle at the center on a plan. 3 rectangles are the mass for the rooms such as living room, kitchen, bedroom, etc. 3 quadrangles are the courtyards.
1 triangle is a hall which connects rooms and faces the courtyards with transparent glass. Though it is the center of this house, the hall is very bright. This house is close to the outside at the outskirts and open at the center, and besides, every room faces the courtyard and the room in other mass is always beyond the courtyard. We hope these conditions make a fresh experience of life in this house. Contact Chikara Ohno / sinato
